Blink, Wolverine, Phoenix and Topaz are first through the door once the flashbang team makes their entrance.

Their goal - Get in, find out where the kidnapped are, and get that information to the rest of the team

TW: Violence, light gore, death

(Note, log still in progress, see this space for updates)

"I'm not an X- Man any more," Clarice sung softly to herself to the tune of 'I'm not a virgin anymore' as she removed an inch of the guard's chest right through his heart. It didn't go far, just a few feet away, but it was a very important few feet given that it was no longer in his body. "Let's get inside."

Jean grimaced as she saw the guard hit the ground, the blood splattering outward like a violent Jackson Pollack painting. She closed her eyes, then rubbed her temple and let out a breath.

"Just a reminder I don't have my telepathy right now, so to find our missing people we're going to have to get creative," she said. She glanced around at the others. "Any ideas? Short of a game of 'let Logan intimidate the guards.'"

"But intimidating the guards sounds like so much fun."

Topaz stepped up, not even sparing a glance for the guard Clarice had stabbed. "I suppose if we'd rather go the more subtle route, however - empathy is always an option."

Logan brought up the rear after having tucked the Blackbird into a safe spot for easy retrieval. All cloaking systems engaged though based on the explosions and sounds coming from elsewhere, it wouldn’t be an issue.

The fresh bright pop of copper hitting the air made him wrinkle his nose. He glanced at the guard in passing and wondered where the second one was. Hopefully engaged with something else. “Might be faster too. Got a whole bunch of intermingled scents and,” he jerked his hand in a motion to indicate behind them, “the fireworks show behind us stirrin’ things up.”

"We're not really 'subtle,'" Clarice pointed out, not because it was a bad option, but it was usually the more time-consuming one. "Whatever is fastest."

"Luckily empathy tends to not be overly time consuming," Topaz said. Alarms - hilariously late - blared to life around them as they hurried inside. "More guards coming from the east, about a hundred feet away."

The guards barely made it around the corner before Jean hit them.

The lead soldier slammed hard into the concrete wall, the impact knocking the breath out of him. Two more were ripped off their feet, rifles twisting out of their hands in shrieking bursts of metal before Jean drove them into the ceiling and dropped them in a heap.

Jean stepped over the fallen rifle as she started down the hall.

“If you get anything, feed it through the team,” she said to Topaz.

Logan moved toward the front of the group to take the brunt of anything thrown their way that made it past the rest of the group's powers. Then again, he wasn't sure that was needed. He was good for up close and personal encounters while everyone else here operated at a distance. He kept his claws sheathed for the moment as no one was even getting close enough to be a problem.

Blink dealt with the next wave of guards quickly and efficiently by chopping their legs off at the knees using a portal. X-Men don't kill or some such. If they survived, great. If they bled out, well. Oops?

Empathy was chaotic in the best of times, and these times were certainly not that. But Topaz was used to that, and she knew who she was looking for. She reported directions the best she could to everyone else.

A door up ahead burst open, more guards pouring out. Topaz summoned a shield to cover the hall, and the guards ran headlong into it, crumpling into heaps on the ground. She moved up ahead to peek into the room they'd exited. It looked like a security room, and would you look at that?

"Found the PA system," she reported over her shoulder.

"I wonder just how devoted to the cause this incarnation of Weapon X is," Logan mused as he stepped into the room. His gaze roved over the displays of security cameras, computers, and other office accoutrements before heading over to the PA system controls. He tapped his hand lightly on the various computers he passed along the way. "Think we can get some of this data back to the mansion?" he said as he saw the PA system itself was in an unlocked state. He wondered what they had called out over the system that they hadn't heard.

Jean pulled out a souped up looking USB-C data stick. "Got this from the science tech crew, just in case," she said with a faint smile. "Let's see what we can get for future light reading."

She plugged it into one of the computers, then did a double take at a row of security monitors on the wall and a map of the facility. "Jackpot," she said. She glanced back over to the others. "I love it when the evil facility has a well organized security office."

"That's so.... polite. And suspicious," Clarice commented, watching the door. Movement in a nearby monitor caught her eye, "There," she pointed, "They look.... important. And like they're trying to go somewhere very fast. Think we can stop them?"

Topaz looked to the monitor as well, smiling humorlessly. "More than like yes. But we won't know for sure unless we try."
