Shinobi happens across Angelo on the smoker's porch, and gives him some much-needed straight-talking and reassurance.

Even broken sleep is better than no sleep, and Shinobi had gotten roughly nine hours in total under his belt, with a couple brief wake-ups over the course of the night. But, he still felt rather rested. Once he'd gotten himself cleaned up and actually looking like himself again, he'd opted for a smoke before going in to speak with Jubilee. Ducking out onto the back porch, he was too preoccupied with yawning and patting his pockets down for his lighter to notice the porch already had an occupant.

Angelo glanced up on hearing the door open, and mustered a smile for the new arrival. "Shinobi, hey."

Blinking once, Shinobi looked up, cracking a grin when he saw Angelo. "Morning, Ange. Or, well.. afternoon, at this point, I suppose."

Angelo nodded. "Just about, yeah. You sleep okay?"

"Remarkably so, actually," Shinobi chuckled, locating himself a clear spot of wall to lean against as he lit up. The last thing he wanted to do was sit back down. "Ta. Do I dare ask how you've been while we've been gone?"

Angelo shrugged. "Up an' down. But not too bad, mostly, until all this."

"Sorry about that," Shinobi replied with a chuckle around his cigarette, smiling wryly. "It wouldn't be as frustrating if everyone involved in the tizzy wasn't saying the same bloody thing."

Angelo chuckled wryly in response. "Really not your fault. An' yeah... Jubilee an' Illyana just aren't gettin' it. 'Specially 'Yana - Jubes was just worried."

Shinobi shrugged a shoulder, casting a quick look around before he quieted his voice, arching an eyebrow pointedly at the other boy. "Oh, tut, Ange. Who do you think helped Sarah *find* them? I've known about this since we left, and it isn't like she ever made what she planned to do once she found them a bloody *secret*. I don't know why they're throwing all the blame on you lot. Go read her personal journal's entries, there are plenty of mentions of revenge, killing, other sorts of bodily harm, right where everyone - staff included - can see them." He shrugged again, taking a draw off of his cigarette. "As for Jubilee and Illyana.. try not to worry about it. I'm seeing Jubilee once I'm done here, to talk about it some more, and hopefully, Illyana'll be up for it at some point, herself."

"That's not quite what I meant. Was thinkin' more of people's reaction t'me an' Jono sayin' we were goin' after her. An' as for the other... she e-mailed some of us, 'bout a week ago, an' nobody mentioned to the staff what she was plannin'. Nathan didn't take it well", he finished with a slightly bitter twist to the words.

"A week is nothing compared to months, Ange, and she's been talking about doing it since it happened in the first place. She's not big with the subtle, either." He smiled, ruffling his fingers though his own hair as he looked out over the grounds. "Nobody takes things well when they're sleep-deprived. He needs to lay down before he falls down."

Angelo shrugged. "I think they're more upset that we knew she'd found 'em an' didn't say anythin'. An' there's not takin' stuff well, an' then there's flippin' out." He broke off sharply, not seeing any need to go too far into that subject, unless perhaps Shinobi wanted to know badly enough to ask.

"People tend to flip out when they're sleep-deprived and emotions are running high," Shinobi observed patiently, returning his attention to Angelo. "I'll be honest with you, mate. It *was* stupid for you lot not to tell anyone that she'd found them. But, you didn't, and unless the school picked up a time traveller while we were gone, there's not any use crying over spilt blood now. It happened, she'll take a lesson from it, you'll all take a lesson from it, and life will go on. Same's always."

Angelo nodded. "Yeah, you're right. No time travellers here, no."

"Then stop worrying about what happened," Shinobi replied simply, grinning and quirking a brow. "Worry about what *will*. I foresee a grounding in your future, mate, possibly with manual labor involved. Or some essays. Any combination of the above, really."

Angelo laughed a little. "'s fair enough, really. We pretty much know it was stupid."

Shinobi nodded sagely, comfortably folding his arms across his chest. "Oh, I know. I suspect the faculty only reacted as poorly as it did because they had so little notice. They'd still have been pissed off, mind, but they were surprised and had go to right out the door, from what I can gather. That'll put anyone in an unfit state."

Angelo nodded. "True. Although we really didn't know that much more - no names of who she was after, 'cept Grey Crow, an' not when she planned on makin' her move."

"Like I said, mate. No use cryin' over it." Shinobi shrugged, grinning as he stepped over to put his cigarette out in the porch's ashtray. "At risk of sounding preachy, which I'll blame on my current state.. shake the sand from your shoes and move on. As for me, I'm moving on to the kitchen. Can't keep Jubilee waiting too long."

Angelo nodded. "Okay. Good luck talkin' to her - I'll have a shot myself in a few days, maybe."

Shinobi nodded, reaching over to lightly clap the other boy on the shoulder. "I'll try and soften her up for you. She's been very reasonable over e-mail, so I'm not worried."

Angelo smiled slightly. "Yeah. Think everybody was just gettin' all worked up."

"Only because everybody was right, and noone backs down when they are," Shinobi smiled. "Take care, mate. I'll be around, if you need anything."
