Marie-Ange finds Jubilee in the kitchen on the way to go take a runner. Angie is Not Nice. Actually, she's really -very- bitchy.

It was pure coincidence that Marie-Ange happened to be in the kitchen when Jubilee passed through it. Well, it would have been coincidence if Marie-Ange hadn't been precognitive. Coincidence would have definitely left her with less of a headache. The red-haired girl stood in front of the table, arms crossed and a truly impressive scowl on her face.  "Going somewhere, Lee?"

She cursed; she'd been in so much of a hurry to leave after she'd posted her last journal entry that she hadn't seen Marie-Ange. She knew she didn't have much time before someone went looking for her, probably out of some misguided attempt to save her from herself. She wasn't sure about Xavier; he was a telepath and would know why she felt the need to leave but whether he would understand enough to let her, that she'd probably find out soon.

"Yeah, I'm going somewhere. What's it to you?"

Marie-Ange rolled her eyes. "Other than you being completely immature and a.. what is the term, a drama queen?"  She snorted.  "Not much, I suppose. I imagine some people might be a bit upset by your decision to be a coward and run away."  She shrugged lightly. "I am not sure who is more of an idiot, you or Manuel."

She glared at the other girl. "Some people, namely not you. Thanks, Marie-Ange, you just confirmed something for me I've suspected for awhile now. And what has this got to do with Manny?"

Jubilee brushed past Marie-Ange and started pulling food out of the cupboards, things that wouldn't spoil. She'd take a few meals out of the fridge as well, Lorna always made some extra in case people got back to the school after dinner. She'd have to eat them within the next day or so but it was a fair way to LA and she'd need to either hitch or walk for most of it. She had a little money saved up but she'd need that for later, least till she could find work.

The crack Marie-Ange had made about people missing her had hit its mark but Jubilee brushed the feeling aside. As melodramatic as the other girl might think she was being, her leaving was for the best. Besides, they'd forget about her soon enough, they had Amanda afterall.

"As to people missing me. Well, guess they'll miss having someone to make catty remarks about behind my back but I doubt anyone is gonna shed a tear. They've got Amanda, they don't need me."

"No, I suppose we really do not."  Marie-Ange shrugged again.  "After all, not a single one of us needs someone who is perfectly willing to flirt with everyone else's boyfriend." Jubilee wasn't getting off -that- easily. If she thought smart remarks and a few veiled comments about knowing things were going to make Marie-Ange run and hide, she was obviously stupider than she looked.

Taking a step away from the table, she leaned against one of the counters, blocking Jubilee from getting to the door.  "You really should have taken Speech, Jubilee. At least then you might have some idea that the passive-aggressive approach only serves to anger people who can see right through it." Taking a mocking tone, she mimicked Jubilee's words  "I guess they'll miss having someone to make catty remarks about.."  and smirked.  "Really, Lee, if you thought I was going to apologize for thinking you are a tacky, classless mall-rat with no sense of propriety, you should reconsider."

She'd been warned about using her powers, she'd even overheard conversations while she'd been getting her arm set that they were thinking about putting her back in the collar. Another reason to leave now, before she was forced to stay. She couldn't stop the plasma from sparking across her fingers though and she quickly dropped the Tupperware case she'd pulled out of the fridge, glaring at Marie-Ange.

"Apologize? No, I guess I never did. Just kinda relieved you finally admitted it. Means I don't have to make an effort any more, really. Thing was, long as I thought maybe you were just upset with me for some reason. Well, you don't stop being someone's friend cause they're angry at you. You try and fix it, only I never could.  But hey, I'm just a tacky classless mall-rat, someone whose being passive aggressive and is obviously so stupid, so much lower on the food chain then you. So, how about you just get the fuck out of my way, hey? Let me just leave and then you won't have to deal with my tacky ways anymore."

Jubilee would have said more if she hadn't forgotten that she'd broken her right arm. She went pale as she dropped the bag she'd tried to sling over her injured arm and tried to hide the reaction by kneeling down to get it. She'd be damned if she'd give Marie-Ange an opportunity to accuse her of using that for sympathy. She blinked back tears, and gripped the bag with her good hand. She'd been fishing when she'd made her comments about catty remarks. She'd known that sometimes the way she acted got on people's nerves but the confirmation of it hurt. How many others, then? Didn't matter, she'd be gone soon and on her way to LA. She just had to get past Marie-Ange.

Marie-Ange rolled her eyes.  "That was a hint to stop being passive-aggressive and to stop making plays for my sympathy, Jubilee. Denigrating yourself is really only going to serve to make me even more annoyed with you."  The asian girl's attempts to hide her injuries were -really- not working.

Knowing that Jubilee was in no condition to make her move out of the way, Marie-Ange continued to lean casually against the counter.  "You were doing a fine job in fixing my problems with you until you started flirting with half the male population of the school."  Taking in the extent of the bruises and scratches on the girl's face, Marie-Ange gave Jubilee a cold look. "I suppose in one respect you were intelligent. Had you chosen to try to sleep with -my- boyfriend, you would be facing far worse than a few broken bones."

"Since when has my flirting with one specific person been half the male population, Angie? And why the hell would I want to sleep with Doug? Dude, I don't poach. Considering the particular person I did flirt with, is in an open relationship and I asked him about that before I even went there, you got no right to be all shitty about Manny and I. "

Jubilee sighed, seeing as how Marie-Ange was obviously not going to let her by until they'd had this conversation, she might as well stop holding the bag and find somewhere to lean. She was getting tired again, and she remembered enough that she wasn't supposed to go to sleep, least not tonight. She just hoped she'd still have time to make it out of town before anyone else felt the need to have a chat with her. It was fairly late at night, so she might still have a chance. The fact that she remembered what Marie-Ange had once threatened her with in an airport some time ago wasn't making her nervous at all...really. Would anyone care if the other girl harmed her? After the fight between her and Amanda she wasn't as sure anymore.

"You do not sleep with other people's boyfriends. I do not care if Manuel said it was fine."  Marie-Ange's voice grew louder, not quite yelling, but close.  "You flirted with Doug, you flirted with Jamie, I would not be surprised if you were flirting with Nathan or Angelo as well. No matter what Manuel told you, It is still -wrong, it is still poaching, and -obviously- instead of thinking with your head, you just decided it would be a very good idea to fuck someone else's boyfriend."

Letting out a sigh of disgust, she continued. "Have you heard the phrase "If you sow the wind, you reap the whirlwind?"  Gesturing at the bag, Marie-Ange laughed.  "And of course, instead of facing the consequences, you run away. What is wrong, Jubilee? Are you not tough enough to face what you have brought on yourself? All talk, all flash, and not a single ounce of substance under all the show. You are fooling -no one-."

"When the fuck did I flirt with Doug and Jamie? Give me examples, Angie, cause I don't remember ever doing that. As to Manny, what the hell do you know about it? What? Amanda is allowed to sleep with other people and he ain't? Great fuckin' double standard there, Angie. As to running away, I ain't. I'm leaving, there's a difference. People been comin' to see me all day, tellin' me how wrong I was, and how much of a bad person I am. You're just the latest in a long line, so don't think I ain't been facin' up to consequences, cause I have. You think this is all about Manny? You honestly don't know the half of it, Angie. Knowin' what I do now, seemed like leavin' was the best choice, best for everyone, not just me. This way, I can make it right, can't do that here."

Marie-Ange snorted, loudly.  "Running away is never facing up to anything. It solves -nothing-, it changes nothing, and it just makes you look like you are trying to be a martyr." She spread her hands out. "If you do not know when you were flirting with the rest of the boys, then you are -far- less socially adept than I gave you credit for. It does not matter what Manuel is allowed to do, or what Amanda does, it matters what -you- do. No manner of excuses will change that you slept with the boyfriend of someone you dislike, and you cannot tell me that part of you did not do it just to tweak Amanda."

Smirking, she stepped away from the counter, and scooped up the deck of tarot cards on the table. "I know more than you think, Jubilee. How do you think I knew where to find you?"  With that, she turned her back on the girl and stalked out of the room. if Jubilee wanted to run away, no matter of words were going to stop her, and Marie-Ange thought she'd best leave things where they were before the urge to slap the asian girl upside the head grew too strong to ignore.

Jubilee gripped the bag with her good hand and slung it over her shoulder. Whatever Marie-Ange said, it didn't matter now what people thought of her. If Marie-Ange knew about Patches, it gave Jubilee even more reason to leave now. She needed time to find out why Patches had lied to her, and if Marie-Ange knew about what she'd done, she'd be sure to tell the teachers. Jubilee needed her powers, needed some kind of threat if she was going to be dealing with the people she thought of. She couldn't afford to stay and be muzzled, not now. Time to go, before she met up with any more unfortunate encounters.

Wow. Jamie really is clueless about other girls.

. . . Um, I think I am too. When did Jubilee flirt with him?
