Set just after Jubilee's fight with Amanda, and then flight from the mansion. Hank gives her a looking-over before relasing her back to normal mansion life, such as it is, finds a curiousity, and they touch very lightly on fallout from what occured, before she's sent off with a much needed welcome-home.

Jubilee squirmed slightly on the Medlab bed, trying to find a position
that didn't leave her with a draft up her back. After she'd been
brought back, they'd put her in a hospital gown. She supposed it was
to discourage her from leaving again before she'd had time to get
checked over. At least Big Blue had promised her some pain
killers after this final examination.

She looked up, smiling as Hank entered the room, maybe if she
pretending nothing at all was wrong she wouldn't get yelled at.
"Hey, Big Blue."

The... well, big and blue-furred doctor flashed the young lady a
smile-- which didn't mean anything one way or another, really, since
he'd probably offer the same demeanor in the midst of a towering rage
as readily as an actual good mood. He wore the same clothing he usually
favored around medlab, which is to say a comfortable pair of shorts
and a white labcoat filled with pockets, and his wire-rimmed glasses.

"Good evening, Jubilee. Word has settled on my rather excellent ears
that you've been into a bit of it just recently." Okay, so he's aware
she's in trouble, of course, and choosing to play it smoothly. That
could mean a lot of different things. "First things first, of course...
how are we feeling, aside from appalled at the complete and utter
lack of all fashion sense?"

Jubilee thought about how to answer that. Considering everything, she
supposed she was alright, physically at the very least. There were
things to be said for the healing powers of drafty hospital gowns,
notably that people would do anything to get out of them and back into
normal clothes. She put on her best beaming smile. "I'm doin' fine,
Hankster. Guess I could do without the various broken body parts and
the bump on the head but otherwise I think I'm quite ready and able to
rejoin society...preferably with clothing that doesn't show off my butt."

A nod, and The Beast finished wandering over to where Jubilee sat,
giving her a once-over to make sure that the cast and assorted
patchings-up that were required the first time she'd been in after the
fight were all still in good shape. "It would seem for the most part to
be so," he mused, watching her out of the corner of an eye. Naturally,
it was less the physical that anyone was worried about, but the girl
seemed to be less a flight risk than expected, judging by the banter.
"Not, I'm sure, that everyone would find the view disagreeable, but I'm
sure you'd prefer a more flattering cut if you were to be showing off,
hmm? In any case... I'd tend to agree, methinks. I'm glad to see you're
eager to return upstairs, even though it must be worrisome to have
consequences awaiting you there." It was a calculated risk, reminding
her of the upset she'd been part of, but he wanted to see if she was
likely to try to run again once it *did* come up... and it isn't as
if he didn't lock the door on his way in or stand a good chance of
catching her anyway.

Jubilee sighed, picking at some left over nail polish that had yet to
fade from one of her thumb nails. She'd gone to town on her nails as
apart of the whole package for the Asgard party. "Well, gotta deal
with it at some stage, don't I? Otherwise, they'll have ta line up
outside the Medlab to kick me in the ass and it'd be all sorts of
chaos." She looked at him then, her expression guarded. "I ain't
about to run again, if that's what you're tryin' to find out about."

"It was a concern," he admitted, apparently finding nothing troublesome
with the girl's injuries, handing her a pair of painkillers and glass
of water before moving on to make sure she didn't pick up anything new.
"Not much of one, to my mind, mind you... in any case, You are quite
correct, you'd have to deal with it sooner or later, and sooner
than later at least shows some sort of inclination towards being adult
about it, which is certainly in your favor..." He frowned thoughtfully,
pulling out a little penlight. "Hmmm, do me a favor, and tilt your
head up, my dear."

Jubilee dutifully tilted her head upwards, her brow crinkling.
"Well, not like I ain't made people steamed at me before. Although, this
is a little worse then filling one of the teacher's baths with Jello.
So, you heard anythin' about punishment yet, Big Blue?"

Ducking a bit to peer at Jubilee's neck, Hank flicked the bright little
light on. "Mmm... not as such, though I believe Cain is understandably
incensed over the damage. i should imagine he'll be given his hand
at punishment, which will no doubt entail some form of physical labor,
as he tends to favor such when handing out such assignments." time to
change the subject entirely. "How long has the skin on your neck
been looking like this, Jubilee?"

Jubilee tried to turn around to see and then mentally slapped
herself on the head for being an idiot. "Don't know, can't really see back
there without a mirror. What's it look like?"

"Mmm... It's a little hard to say. 'Odd' would be an immediate term.
You seem to have a couple of patches that don't match the rest of
you. A little discolored, perhaps, just off the shade of the rest of the
skin... and I don't recall seeing this little mole here on your last
checkup..." He straightened, frowning slightly, and turned towards
one of the counters, digging in a drawer.

Jubilee shrugged, swinging her feet slightly as she waited. "Weird,
considerin' I don't really get moles. You think it could mean
somethin'?"

With a shrug, Hank withdrew an instrument from the drawer, and
returned, reaching over to gently guide Jubilee's head into a
particular angle so he could get at the skin patches in question. "I'm
not entirely sure, as yet. Could be... or it could simply be one of
those odd little skin conditions that people develops as they go. But
it would be best to run some tests... and when you get a chance, have
a look at your neck... check yourself over for more. let me know if you
find any, if they change, or if you can remember when they might have
cropped up." A quick swipe with the tool, and he's collected himself a
small sample of skin cells scraped off the surface. Then another,
separate sample, from an unremarkable portion of the girl's skin, for
use as a baseline.

"Sure, Doc. You know, with my luck we'll discover it's a secondary
mutation. So, other then weird patches of skin, am I lookin' okay to
get out of here and get on some actual clothing?"

"Yep. You are otherwise, right as rain." He tucked the samples into a
pocket for later testing. "I'll let you know as soon as I know
something, one way or the other. Get some rest, come let us know if
over the counter painkillers don't cut it, and if Cain tries to work
you *too* hard while you're still in the cast, let me know, but of
course, that shan't be a free ride ticket."

Jubilee nodded and jumped down from the Medlab bed, smiling at Beast
as she quickly headed toward the door. "Thanks, Hankster. See ya
round, hey?"

The smile was met with an echoing one, and a wave. "Most assuredly. And
Jubilee... it's good to see you sticking it out, abortive run for it or
not. wouldn't quite be the same."

Jubilee paused at the door, looking back for a second. "Thanks, Dude.
Really needed to hear that."
