Who: Jubilation Lee, Katherine Pryde

When: Thursday 2nd September 5:30pm

What happens: Kitty hunts down her further roommate and they do some catching up on recent developments.



Kitty knocked on the door of Paige and Jubilee's room, wondering vaguely at the oddity of having to knock to talk to her (now ex) roommate. "Hey, Jubes, you in? It's Kitty..."

Jubilee looked up from where she'd been trying to right with her off-hand. It wasn't working out particularly well but the knock at the door had saved her from a repeated attempt.

"Yeah, Dude. Come in, hey? Could use the distraction right now."

"Heya," Kitty said as she came in. She immideately caught sight of the cast and frowned. "How's the arm?"

Jubilee shrugged, trying to appear nonchalant. She'd mostly been trying to tough out the injuries, make them seem less then they were. She didn't want people thinking she was trying to get sympathy, hard enough that she herself didn't have much sympathy for her plight. She'd been so blinded by what she wanted.

"It's good, kinda a pain in the ass to be writing one handed but s'not all that bad. Doesn't hurt anyhow, not with the pain killers. How you been? I was gonna come by and see ya, catch up and all. Missed you lots."

"Missed you, too. It's wierd not having you and Terry in the room anymore. I mean, you're all of maybe twenty feet away, but still... Glad to hear it doesn't hurt, at least," Kitty added.

Jubilee smiled, slipping gratefully into normalcy. "Isn't it though? I keep expecting Terry ta hit me with a pillow and tell me ta stop my infernal snoring...Which I totally deny doing, of course. If only cause it's more fun ta deny it then actually admit it. I mean, if I admitted it, she'd totally not have anything ta tease me with anymore and I'd kinda miss it. Although, possibly not the pillows to the head.

"Heh. Never expected you to admit to it, Jubes, but that doesn't make it any less true. How are you getting on with Paige? I think I got lucky, getting to stick with 'Yana. At least we know each other's habits."

Jubilee smiled. "She's been cool, although the early wakeup calls with workout tapes are kinda of the weird and unusual. She hasn't actually got on my back about what happened too, which I totally wasn't expecting considering' she's an ex-roomie of Amanda's. It's nice though, she's nice. It's strange only having one other person in the room, makes the space seem all huge and empty sorta. How you been settling' into the new room? Jamie still getting hugs in at random? He seriously missed you."

Kitty let the comment about Paige being one of Amanda's ex-roommates pass. "Hey, maybe if she's waking you up so early you'll finally start sleeping normal hours? And I know what you mean about the space. Even with all my clothes it feels like we can't quite fill the space. Certainly 'Yana doesn't have enough random clothing to make up for your and Terry's entire wardrobes being gone." She grinned at the mention of Jamie. "Yes, well, I seriously missed him too."

"I kinda thought you might have, considerin' the way you two have been since you got back. Is incredibly cute. So...do you already know what happened, or have you been avoiding it purposely? Cause like, I don't really need to talk about it but like, if you wanted to know, I'd tell ya. I did something pretty stupid." Jubilee said.

"I already know some - 'Yana told me," Kitty explained. "But yeah, I'd like to know more. It was... it was pretty stupid, yeah, from what I know."

Jubilee squared her shoulders and started speaking, her eyes on her hands.

"I slept with Manny. Amanda decided to take it badly and things kinda got out of hand after she broke my nose. It was just a fight at first, ya know? Then she was slammin' my head into the floor and I panicked and boom!, powers. It was my fault, ya know? If I hadn't panicked, I don't think she'd have used her magic. Although, I guess if I'm goin' there, if I hadn't slept with Manny. But he told me their relationship was open and I know I should have questioned that but it was what I wanted ta hear. I just...He's the only guy whose ever been that interested in me and I just wanted ta feel, just once. And I know it wasn't love, just physical and I guess we were both using each other but it wasn't like what Marie-Ange said, I didn't do it just to hurt Amanda."

"Have you told her that?" Kitty asked, almost idly. "I mean, probably it wouldn't be a good idea to hunt her down for a heart to heart face to face, but... If you feel like you did something... wrong, I guess, have you apologized? Letters and email and what not. I know the two of you don't really get on that well, but a state of open war probably isn't the way to go through the next year of classes."

Jubilee nodded. "I asked Angelo to tell her for me. He came to see me in Medlab afterwards. I didn't think she'd even read an e-mail from me at that stage, to be honest. But maybe he told her. Kitty, do you think I'm a bad person?"

"Oh, Jubes, no," Kitty said, moving to give the older girl a hug. "I think you don`t think about what you`re doing very often, but I know you never mean to hurt anyone. It was a mistake, and you know it. And you`re willing to admit it, which is better than loads of people."

Jubilee closed her eyes and hugged Kitty back with her good arm, not realising till that moment just how much she'd needed to hear that. "Thanks, Kit."
