xp_logs | Angelo and Kitty

They take a study break in the rec room and she finally gets to meet Joyita. Friendship-fluff.

Angelo, accompanied as (almost) always by Joyita, wandered into the rec room for some downtime, and grinned when he saw that Kitty had had the same idea. "Hey, Kit. Good to see you takin' a study break."

Kitty looked up from the paperback in her hands. "Heya Angelo. My entire life has become a study break since I discovered that the library has the whole series of these," she said, holding the book up. "Oooh. Is that the infamous Joyita?"

"What is it?" he asked, peering at the book. "An' yeah, it is. Forgot you hadn't met her yet. Go on an' say hi to Kitty, Joyita", he finished mischievously, as the puppy scampered forward.

The bookcover proudly proclaimed the book to be Black Orchids by Rex Stout. Kitty, however, was too busy fending off puppy slober to actually say this. "Eep! Oi, no, down pup. Down!"

Angelo chuckled, strolling forward and sitting down, and then called the puppy back to him. "Joyita! That's enough now, girl. Come here." When Joyita had bounced over to sit on him instead, licking his hands, he said with a grin, "Sorry about that. She likes new people."

"I'm shocked," Kitty said with a grin. "Really, I'd never have guessed. Luckily, this is one cat who doesn't hate dogs."

Angelo grinned, relieved. "Oh, good. When I say she likes new people, I pretty much mean she likes all people. An' parrots. An' cats. Delphine an' Bella've both decided she's theirs, I think."

"Delphine I've met. Bella, on the other hand, remains in the catagory of 'they couldn't even make this stuff up if they tried so it must be real'. Although apparently Nathan and Dr. Mctaggart have something for me, so I have to hunt them down eventually."

Angelo grinned wickedly. "You haven't met Bella yet? Oh, you'll love her. She's a scary smart bird. Comes up with nicknames for people all on her own, Nathan says. An' she likes to swim."

"Definitely couldn't be making it up," Kitty replied. "So what are you up to, this fine study break of ours?"

Still grinning, he stretched lazily, somehow managing not to displace Joyita from his lap. "Oh, I thought I'd just come veg in here an' watch TV for awhile. If it won't keep you from readin' your book?"

"Come now, Angelo, you know me better than that. Nothing can keep me from reading my book." Kitty glanced around and spotted the remote sitting on the other couch cushion and tossed it to Angelo. "Be my guest."

Angelo laughed and caught it, flicking on the TV to see what was on, then settling down to channel-surf. "Thanks."
