He runs into her while out walking the puppy, and they discuss how they're both doing lately, and the mansion pets, before he goes off to introduce Joyita to Lockheed (log to follow).
Angelo was out on one of his now-regular walks with the puppy, down on the path that ran beside the lake. Spotting another figure ahead of them just as Joyita did, he found himself forced to speed up so she wouldn't choke herself on the lead, eager to bounce at whoever it was - which, as he drew closer, turned out to be Alison.
She was actually headed in their direction, jogging at a fair clip although she started slowing down as soon as she spotted them. "Hey," she called out, allowing herself to overshoot them as she slowed down, before she wound to a halt and turned around, joining them at a slow walk to cool down.
Angelo grinned as Joyita bounced happily at Alison, yipping. "Hey, Alison. How's things?"
"Joggingly so," she replied, not wasting a single instant to crouch down to greet the puppy. "And who is the cutest puppy around, mm? Yes, it's you!" she cooed without any shame at all, ruffling Joyita's fur cheerfully. "And you?" she finally asked, looking up, earning herself a lick on the chin in the process from the very enthusiastic puppy.
Angelo laughed, watching them, and released the lead since Joyita wasn't likely to go running off any time soon when she was getting so much attention. "I'm pretty good."
Nabbing the leash herself and dangling it under Joyita's nose in an invitation to play tug of war which was immediately accepted, Alison looked up at him. "You look like you're doing good," she said, smiling at him slightly.
He smiled back. "Yeah... I've been workin' through a lot of stuff lately an' I think I'm pretty much there. Or as much there as I need to be yet."
"Mm." She chuckled as Joyita attempted to wind around her with the leash, and disentangled herself before she could fall over. "That's all anyone can ask for, really. I'm glad to hear things are going better."
He nodded, still smiling, and crouched down to pet the puppy too. "How's Miles? Apart from sugar-high a lot?"
She glanced back at the mansion automatically. "Enjoying life." It seemed simple enough an answer, but she knew Angelo would catch the nuances to it. "It's good to watch." Joyita tugged at the leash demandingly, wanting more attention, and Alison laughed while tugging back some more.
Angelo nodded again. "Yeah, it is. Good to see the kid actin' like one - even better now we've got a few more littles for him an' Artie to play with."
A simple nod answered that comment. Miles had seemed to accept the new comers without any second thought, but he had been a bit more jealous of Alison's time too, since the increase in kidlets had occurred, she'd noticed.
Angelo grinned suddenly, remembering something. "An' only Miles could convince Mr. Marko to take in a kitten."
"Miles lets him think it's still his too. But it's really Cain's." Alison snickered at that, straightening up while still keeping a firm grasp on the leash, Joyita growling in delight. "It's very entertaining to watch, that."
Angelo nodded mock-seriously, keeping a straight face. "Mr. Marko named it, after all. It's his for life now."
"You mean he belongs to Mao now. Heaven forbid anyone call a cat someone's pet." She shifted to the side once more, Joyita's tugging causing her to lean just a bit. "Has Joyita met the kitten yet?" Images of Mao doing his best to eat the puppy drew a faint smile from her.
Angelo chuckled. "Not yet - I don't really go down to the boathouse much, an' we haven't met the kitten when we've been out walkin'. I hear he's a giant."
"Ha! Teeny little thing. Out to eat the world. Course, I'm not surprised he thinks he's huge." She grinned. "Probably takes it from living with Cain and owning the biggest person around."
Angelo laughed, reaching out to pat the puppy's head. "Yeah, probably. Joyita has met Delphine - an' got washed like a kitten, so I guess she's been adopted."
Somehow, Alison had the feeling Mao would not react that way to the puppy. "Hrm. Delphine owns the world. Figures she'd claim Joyita as hers too." And she'd have to talk to Paul about Miles missing socks soon, although she suspect the little boy of enabling the cat in that more than just a bit.
Angelo grinned. "Not sure what she'll do faced with Kitty's dragon. Joyita, I mean. Hope he doesn't try to eat her."
"You may just want tot talk to Kitty about that. From what I understood, the dragon is likely to listen to her if she lays down a firm rule about not eating the other pets." Alison blinked suddenly. "Wait. Maybe that should be mentioned to her sooner rather than later," she winced, glancing back at the mansion.
Angelo grinned and nodded. "Yeah, it sounded like a pretty smart critter from what she was sayin'. I'll talk to her, although I don't think it'll be a real problem just yet - he sounds too little to get very far, except maybe with Angie's mice."
A slow blink and Alison snickered at the turn of phrase, unable to just ignore it. "Ooh. I see." She retrieved the end of the leash from Joyita, still clearly amused as she handed it to Angelo.
Angelo blinked, then mentally reviewed his words, before laughing and flicking the end of the leash at her lightly. "You know what I meant."
"Indeed I do," she agreed solemnly, not pushing things any further - it was much more fun to do that to people who blushed and tried to change the subject as fast as they could instead. "Well, why don't I let you go talk to Kitty about making sure that the other pets don't end up as dragon kibbles, and I'll go finish my jogging run?"
Angelo grinned. "Will do. I'll talk to you soon, yeah?"
"Hey, you know where I live," she answered jokingly, nodding in response and waving over her shoulder as she started up a slow jog again to warm up before regaining the speed she had been running at early. "See you later!"
