xp_logsIn the jet after the rescue, Jubilee and Lorna catch up on recent events and Lorna angsts.
x_north_star: *sits in the jet seat with her knees pulled up to her chest and stares at her shoes, her jaw clenched*
fireworksxgirl: looks over at Lorna. "wanna talk about it?"
x_north_star: *sighes and drops her chin to her knees* A world of no. *shakes head* Those were my neighbors. I baby-sat their kids.
fireworksxgirl: looks away. "oh, yeah. I guess that's bad then, what happened back there." bites lip nervously, has no idea how to approach Lorna
fireworksxgirl: looks back. "Wanna talk about something else then?"
x_north_star: *laughs without any humor in it* Anything else. What's been going on? I saw a bit on the news. Is Professor Grey flipping out over special forces trampling her garden?
fireworksxgirl: looks at Lorna, lightbulb goes off in her head, quickly looks out the window and sighs. "I hate to be the one to tell you this. Damn, why me, this is hard. Give me a second to think about the best way to tell you Lorna." furrows brow. "Maybe I should go from the start? From the invasion?"
x_north_star: *eyes widen* I prefer the band-aid approach, rip it off fast, hurts less. What's the damage?
fireworksxgirl: takes a deep breath, ready to dive right in. "Lorna, Professor Grey is gone."
x_north_star: *doesn't quite get it for a second then her jaw drops* Like, dead gone? Not ran off with Logan and pissed Professor Summers off royally gone?
fireworksxgirl: bites lip, it's still hard for Jubilee to think about it. "Yeah you got it, she's dead gone."
x_north_star: *gasps* Oh my god. How?
fireworksxgirl: "Well, it's kind of a long story, but I'll cut it down if you want. It's sad but in a way it kind of warms your heart. So you have a choice" holds out one hand "The long version." holds out other hand. "Or the short version."
x_north_star: *thinks about it for a second, staring at Jubilee's hands like see can see the stories therein* Long.
fireworksxgirl: "Okay, settle in. I'll spare you from the creepy stuff though, you don't need to hear about that. And I don't need to relive that." Takes about two deep breaths, collects thoughts while looking at her hands. Looks up at Lorna
x_north_star: *gives her a sharp glance and reminds herself to find out what happened to Jubes*
fireworksxgirl: "Okay first off the place we were taken, and where Professor Grey, Ms. Munroe, and Kurt, who they had picked up, went was this place called Alkali Lake. There was this huge dam that we were actually inside. That's also where your monster headache originated from."
x_north_star: *nods* The neighbors thought I did it.
x_north_star: Who's Kurt?
fireworksxgirl: "Yeah, apparently that's how loads of people reacted. Oh, Kurt is cool, I'll tell you about him later though. Anyways." looks out window as the memories she has tried hard to hide flood back. "The same thing that caused the headache, caused the dam to start breaking down. We escaped the dam, only to find ourselves in a deserted clearing."
fireworksxgirl: sarcastically "Rogue came to our rescue by crash landing the jet practically on top of us. Her doing that caused some malfunctions, or something that happened on the way to Alkali Lake broke the jet down."
fireworksxgirl: looks at Lorna "Anything you need cleared up real quick?"
x_north_star: They let Rogue fly? Why?
x_north_star: Wasn't anyone else with, you know, training available?
x_north_star: And why was she there anyway?
fireworksxgirl: "Oh she took the initiative herself. Apparently we exited the dam on the opposite side from the jet, or at least far away from it. Oh yeah, I tend to leave her out when I tell stories...but she, Bobby, and John were left in the jet when Logan, Kurt, Professor Grey, Ms. Munroe, Magneto, and Mystique went into the damn to rescue us and stop what was going on in there." thinks for a second. "Maybe I should start at the very very beginning?"
x_north_star: Much with the yeah. Magneto is in jail, Mystique is dead or at least they were before this became a bad TV movie
fireworksxgirl: "Okay yeah beginning then. If you get lost tell me, cause I may get lost trying to have to relate all the bits and pieces I've heard, and what I saw." ticks off things on her fingers to help her keep track of all the people who need explaining. another lightbulb. "So did you hear about the attack on the president?"
x_north_star: Yes, Mom couldn't get enough of the coverage.
fireworksxgirl: "Okay, well that Kurt guy I mentioned was the attacker. But he was under some sort of mental control by this crazy guy who was behind the whole thing."
fireworksxgirl: quick thought pops in her head. "But Kurt is a totally nice guy."
x_north_star: *nods slowly* Okay *willing to take her word for it since Jubilee is more likely levy negative judgements than positive ones*
fireworksxgirl: "Okay so when the professor located Kurt he sent Dr. Grey, and Ms. Munroe out to bring him back for questioning or whatever the hell they do in the basements. At the same time the Professor and Mr. Summers went to talk to Magneto. But they disappeared, and I guess sometime around then Magneto escaped, not sure how though." thinks about people involved. and timelines. "This was the same night as the invasion. It all happened so quickly. Of course none of the students knew what was going on, only that there was a recon mission, and something else that the professor had to do."
fireworksxgirl: looks at Lorna. "Got it so far?"
x_north_star: I think so.
fireworksxgirl: "okay." plunges onward, taking another deep breath. as the events escalate she speeds up her speech "Okay, so Logan was 'babysitting' us that night. When the attackers came I was spinning, so I never heard anything, just got knocked out right away. The majority of what I'll tell you know is from what I've randomly heard about. A good majority of students escaped and were able to make it to location number one in new york, some of the teachers on leave flew there as soon as they heard the news. Some of us were captured, hence the tranq darts. And Bobby, Logan, Rogue and John escaped to Bobby's family house in Boston."
x_north_star: Tranq darts? *voice squeaks rather embarrassingly and she swallows hard*
fireworksxgirl: nods slowly, remembering the pain, and effects. "Yeah tranq darts." shakes it off. "So the four in Boston got picked up by the jet, guess they were in the area. Somewhere along the way John managed to blow up a lot of police cars, Rogue drained him, they figured out where we were, got hit by an Air Force plane bomb or something, rogue flew out the jet, Kurt saved her, and Magneto saved them from crashing."
x_north_star: *just nods as she organizes it in her head*
fireworksxgirl: "I guess it may have been that night and Magneto who told everyone where we were. I'm not sure, but that's when Magneto and mystique entered the picture. The next day they flew to Alkali Lake. I'm not sure how they got in and all that jazz, no one has really talked about that. Ms. Munroe, and Kurt got me and some of the other kids from where we were. We met up with Dr. Grey, and Mr. Summers. Something went on between them, I think i heard something about Mr. Summers being under mind control, he's been very quite by the way."
x_north_star: Mind control by the same guy as the one who set Kurt on the president?
x_north_star: *figures that nothing around these parts in coincidence*
fireworksxgirl: "Yeah. He's also the one that initiated the attacks, and was behind everything, i mean everything, at Alkali Lake. I think his name was Stryker or something like that."
x_north_star: Mutant?
fireworksxgirl: "No worse, NORMAL!! His intent was to kill all the mutants. Leading to the next part of my story. Those headaches."
x_north_star: *starts to ask something then nods instead*
fireworksxgirl: acknowledges then nod with one of her own, and goes on "That Stryker guy, built a second cerebro, you know that thing the Professor uses to find mutants."
x_north_star: Yeah
fireworksxgirl: "Okay, well somehow that guy found a way to control the Professor. And he decided to use him and cerebro to kill all the mutants in creation. Resulting in the blinding headache. Well the only reason it ended was because of Magneto, but at the result of the headaches that everyone else got. Luckily Ms. Munroe and Kurt were able to get inside Cerebro and stop the Professor."
fireworksxgirl: "Which is why the headaches stopped for them. All the while the power that the Professor was emitting caused the dam to crack."
x_north_star: How? Opening the doors to Cerebro would have been super dangerous from what I know.
fireworksxgirl: "Yeah, well Kurt is a teleporter, so he was able to teleport Ms. Munroe into Cerebro. Apparently there was another mutant in there with the Professor who controls minds, and Dr. Grey felt him and warned the two before they teleported."
x_north_star: *blinks* A mutant who can control the professor? Scary stuff.
fireworksxgirl: "For real. The whole thing was rather scary, but the story is almost over. So we escaped from the dam about five minutes before the whole thing busted down, Logan helped out with that. This is when Rogue crash landed the plane."
x_north_star: Okay and so you're all trapped cus the bird is broken
fireworksxgirl: nods emphatically. "You got it, Mr. Summers, and Ms Munroe were in the pilot seats, where Ms. Frost and Warren are now, trying to get things working. All of sudden Logan noticed that Dr. Grey was no longer inside. The Professor did his little trick and found her outside. Of course, Mr. Summers tried to run out and get her. But for some reason the door closed on him. Someone yelled out: 'She's controlling the plane.' The Professor somehow channeled Dr. Grey and she told everyone that she knew what she was doing."
x_north_star: What the hell was she doing?
fireworksxgirl: "By this time the dam had broken loose and tons, literally tons, of water was rushing in on us, but Dr. Grey held the water off, fixed the jet, and lifted us out of harms way. All with her OWN POWERS!!!! it really was amazing and brave and awesome for her to do that for us. Unfortunately she got caught up in the rush of water by the time we were in the air."
fireworksxgirl: looks earnestly at Lorna. This is the most she has spoken about it all. "She honestly sacrificed herself for all of us, it was amazing."
x_north_star: *nods, her face grave and closed*
fireworksxgirl: looks Lorna over carefully. "Take your time, it's a lot of info to hear at once. Anything else you want to know?"
x_north_star: I'm not really sure yet what I need to know. Is everyone else okay?
fireworksxgirl: furrows brow and bites lower lip, going over all she's said. "Um, everyone at the school is okay guess, I think I've been pissing a lot of people off, but I don't care about that. Oh and John deserted us in favor of Magneto. In my opinion it was for the attention, but he doesn't think so.
fireworksxgirl: "and other people have their own ideas about him"
x_north_star: *thinks about what she knows of John and decides she too has her own ideas as well puts them aside however* You're such a liar, Jubes, you do so care
x_north_star: *isn't accusing more like concerned*
fireworksxgirl: "Whatever I don't care. Well about some of them..." she knows her friend well enough that it's hard to hide these things.
fireworksxgirl: "So...anyways anything else you want to be caught up on?"
x_north_star: *shakes head* No. *hesitates* Did you happen to catch the last thing my dad told me?
fireworksxgirl: "Naw, I kind of wanted to get out of there. I felt really uncomfortable, no offense, but your parents...well you know..." looks away sheepishly
x_north_star: Yeah, I know. Its not that they hate mutants or anything, they're just...worried. Anyway, we were arguing you know and dad and he said something about my parents and their bad blood.
x_north_star: *looks ill*
fireworksxgirl: looks baffled. "Lorna slow down, I'm confused, what's wrong?"
x_north_star: *scrubs her hand across her eyes to wipe away tears* I'm adopted.

fireworksxgirl: goes and sits in the seat with Lorna and puts her arms around her. "Hey it's okay, they were still your parents."
x_north_star: But why not tell me? And, well, you didn't hear him, J, he said it like he hated them. Like my real parents were criminals
fireworksxgirl: searces for the right words, hopes to all that is good and great she doesn't mess this one up "maybe they didn't tell you cause they wanted to keep you all to themselves. Like so you would never leave them. Maybe they never told you cause they loved you too much."
x_north_star: So when I was leaving, they decided oh well may as well tell her? That's fucking great
fireworksxgirl: "I dunno, parents do crazy things. People do crazy things, they get angry, upset, sad, mad, and say things that they regret saying." lowers voice to a dramatic whisper "Hell, I do that all the time."
x_north_star: *bitterly* They should have told me. It's not like been adopted it a bad thing but they hid it. Like they hid this *tugs on a lock of her currently brown hair*
fireworksxgirl: shrugs, looks at Lorna, looks at her hair and then back to her eyes. "Parents are just plain dumb a lot of times."
x_north_star: *nods* They wanted a normal daughter and I've tried. But they've lied to me all my life.
fireworksxgirl: "well for what it's worth, you're normal to me." nods authoritatively

fireworksxgirl: hugs her back, one of the rare times when she gives out a bear hug "you're welcome...oh i've just remembered something else."

fireworksxgirl: nods "Okay, well it's up and running, and it's kind of nifty, but I think I pissed a lot of people of yesterday with a post I made. I was mad and it was before I found out I got to help 'rescue' you. But anyways, we so need to set it up right away when you get home!!! Cause it's really neat, no matter what I've told other people."

fireworksxgirl: "Ummm" has to think about them, because in her excitement of remembering she has lost her train of thought, and ticks them off on her fingers as she goes "There's a barbeque this weekend, loads of newbies have arrived, and Alison Blaire is going to rent out a club in New York for my birthday!!!...even though it was last week."
x_north_star: Cool, cool, happy birthday and newbies? Gimme a roster.
fireworksxgirl: "Thanks. Let's see, there's this guy that multiplies himself, kind of like clones, it's neat but annoyed me when he first got here. Some guy named Jonothan, I've not seen him yet. This Everett kid, calls himself Synch, apparently manifests other people's powers, like a Rogue but without touching. And some were brought back last night and today that I've not met. Two girls I think."

fireworksxgirl: furrows brow and bites lower lip, going over all she's said. "Um, everyone at the school is okay guess, I think I've been pissing a lot of people off, but I don't care about that. Oh and John deserted us in favor of Magneto. In my opinion it was for the attention, but he doesn't think so.
fireworksxgirl: "and other people have their own ideas about him"

fireworksxgirl: "Whatever I don't care. Well about some of them..." she knows her friend well enough that it's hard to hide these things.
fireworksxgirl: "So...anyways anything else you want to be caught up on?"
x_north_star: *shakes head* No. *hesitates* Did you happen to catch the last thing my dad told me?
fireworksxgirl: "Naw, I kind of wanted to get out of there. I felt really uncomfortable, no offense, but your parents...well you know..." looks away sheepishly
x_north_star: Yeah, I know. Its not that they hate mutants or anything, they're just...worried. Anyway, we were arguing you know and dad and he said something about my parents and their bad blood.
x_north_star: *looks ill*
fireworksxgirl: looks baffled. "Lorna slow down, I'm confused, what's wrong?"
x_north_star: *scrubs her hand across her eyes to wipe away tears* I'm adopted.
x_north_star: They never told me before this.
fireworksxgirl: goes and sits in the seat with Lorna and puts her arms around her. "Hey it's okay, they were still your parents."
x_north_star: But why not tell me? And, well, you didn't hear him, J, he said it like he hated them. Like my real parents were criminals
fireworksxgirl: searces for the right words, hopes to all that is good and great she doesn't mess this one up "maybe they didn't tell you cause they wanted to keep you all to themselves. Like so you would never leave them. Maybe they never told you cause they loved you too much."
x_north_star: So when I was leaving, they decided oh well may as well tell her? That's fucking great
fireworksxgirl: "I dunno, parents do crazy things. People do crazy things, they get angry, upset, sad, mad, and say things that they regret saying." lowers voice to a dramatic whisper "Hell, I do that all the time."
x_north_star: *bitterly* They should have told me. It's not like been adopted it a bad thing but they hid it. Like they hid this *tugs on a lock of her currently brown hair*
fireworksxgirl: shrugs, looks at Lorna, looks at her hair and then back to her eyes. "Parents are just plain dumb a lot of times."
x_north_star: *nods* They wanted a normal daughter and I've tried. But they've lied to me all my life.
fireworksxgirl: "well for what it's worth, you're normal to me." nods authoritatively
x_north_star: *hugs Jubes* Thanks.
fireworksxgirl: hugs her back, one of the rare times when she gives out a bear hug "you're welcome...oh i've just remembered something else."
fireworksxgirl: "oh and another and another"
x_north_star: Tell me it's good news
fireworksxgirl: "oh and more stuff...there is loads of stuff happening"
x_north_star: I don't think I can handle any more bad news. This is good news right?
fireworksxgirl: "indeed it is good news." practically falls to the floor with excitement

fireworksxgirl: "Well, did you leave before Dr. McCoy implemented the new computer system project or after?"
x_north_star: *thinks about it* I remember him talking about it but it wasn't up and running when I left for Cammy's wedding.
fireworksxgirl: nods "Okay, well it's up and running, and it's kind of nifty, but I think I pissed a lot of people of yesterday with a post I made. I was mad and it was before I found out I got to help 'rescue' you. But anyways, we so need to set it up right away when you get home!!! Cause it's really neat, no matter what I've told other people."
x_north_star: Sounds groovy. So what are the other things?
fireworksxgirl: "Ummm" has to think about them, because in her excitement of remembering she has lost her train of thought, and ticks them off on her fingers as she goes "There's a barbeque this weekend, loads of newbies have arrived, and Alison Blaire is going to rent out a club in New York for my birthday!!!...even though it was last week."
x_north_star: Cool, cool, happy birthday and newbies? Gimme a roster.
fireworksxgirl: "Thanks. Let's see, there's this guy that multiplies himself, kind of like clones, it's neat but annoyed me when he first got here. Some guy named Jonothan, I've not seen him yet. This Everett kid, calls himself Synch, apparently manifests other people's powers, like a Rogue but without touching. And some were brought back last night and today that I've not met. Two girls I think."

fireworksxgirl: laughs at this. "Geez Lorna, it's great having you back. I was about to blow something up soon. I nearly died when I found out we were coming to pick you up"
x_north_star: I can't tell you how happy I am to be out of my room. I was going crazy. I started a paper clip chain.
fireworksxgirl: laughs hysterically "I'm not laughing at being trapped, just the paper clip train. How long was it?"
x_north_star: Before or after I rebent all the paper clips into longer loops...by hand?
x_north_star: I think there were something like 600 of them.
fireworksxgirl: "you bent them by hand? How come you just didn't use your power? But damn that is a lot."
x_north_star: By hand because it takes longer. Plus the powers freak my parents out. They prefer I not use them at home.
fireworksxgirl: "ohhhh. i see. wow you were in there a long time."
x_north_star: Forever, it feels like. Speaking of forever, shouldn't we be there by now?
fireworksxgirl: "for real...maybe like 20 minutes, let's go bug Emma and Warren"
x_north_star: *grins* Dare you to call her Frosty the Snowman
fireworksxgirl: "I'll accept your challenge, but Snowman or Snowwoman?"
x_north_star: Woman. Extra points if you can work weight gain into it.
fireworksxgirl: giggles "Okay, challenge and points have been duly noted. I'm off." puts on soldier face, walks towards the front "Oh Frosty the overweight Snowwoman, I have a question for you."
x_north_star: *bursts out laughing and turns it into a cough and waits for all hell to break loose*
