Catseye, following the grand cat tradition, decides that sleeping on other people is of course the way to Do Things Properly...
The bed was very comfortable. And nice and warm and snuggly (just like RedFurFriend's had been earlier), and Catseye figured this one could be hers (too) and that it was nice to find a place with so many nice, warm and snuggly beds for her to claim. The occupants were sometimes nice and warm and snuggly too and Catseye was more than inclined to claim them as hers too. With a slow stretch she twisted onto her back then curled up once more, starting to purr in a pleased way.
Not entirely awake, Kyle shifted, trying to figure out why he was so warm. He'd given up on blankets on his bed after shredding two sets in three nights, and just had a sheet that he'd been told was too well made for him to destroy. It wasn't his fault he had nightmares, and clawed at things in his sleep. He considered rolling over on his back, and shifted his shoulders to do so, but came up against a warm, purring lump next to him. ~Warm. Purring.. ~ He sat up and opened his eyes. In the not-quite-dawn-yet light he could make out lavender fur, and his brain went into full high gear. That was the new girl, the one who turned into a cat and she was sleeping next to him. Kyle eeped and looked around. This was definitely his room, that was Forge collapsed into the other bed, and there was a girl in his bed.
Snuggling closer, Catseye purred in delight - he'd moved just enough so that she could burrow in a bit deeper and snag that much more warmth and he was really a good human to keep, she decided. And he had claws which Catseye approved of mightily, the thought causing her to slowly flex her toes, her own claws digging into the bed sheets rapturously.
Okay, she was a cat right now, and not a girl, but Kyle remembered what Rahne had said about shapeshifting and clothes and that cat was not wearing any. He shut his eyes tight, trying to not think about naked girls in his bed. It didn't work. Peeling one eyelid open, he carefully checked under the sheets. Okay, he was wearing clothes. He'd have been really upset to find out he'd done anything interesting in the middle of the night and didn't remember it. Now what was he going to do? Girl, in his bed, and the thought was definitely doing things that Kyle found -really- embarrassing and he couldn't even get up to go take a cold shower, because there was a cat lying half on him. And he didn't want to risk claws in his legs, or arms, or other places...
He'd lifted the bed sheets! Now, there was the warmest place of all and while he did so Catseye carefully snuck a paw just so, meaning she could wriggled her way under afterwards - which she did with much glee, purring cheerfully the entire time. Now, this was the life. New bed, new person, both adding up nicely to so many others and still many more left for her to investigate!
Now Kyle yelped, though quietly. Cat. Girl. Sheets. If he had been keeping a list of the weirdest stuff ever, this would top it. Normally he wouldn't complain at the idea of a girl in his bed, except that this one had claws and so did he, but he couldn't just claw up a girl. They never understood that sort of thing. He lifted the sheet again and looked under it. If she started doing that knead-with-the-paws thing he was going to die of embarrassment.
Shimmying down just a liiiitle bit lower, Catseye finally curled up again. This was good. This was oh so very good. Like back home on the streets with her littermates, really. The purring shifted to something quieter and infinitely more contented, the lavender cat slowly starting to corkscrew around in pure delight.
Kyle sighed. He'd had a cat growing up for a little while, and he knew better. There would be no getting this one to budge. And the purring was kind of nice, he thought. Relaxing. Stifling a yawn, he looked up. Six in the morning. No wonder. He scratched his head, and tried to shift around so that he was at least laying down without bumping his head on the headboard. He could survive one morning with a cat, if he just could remind himself that it was a -cat- right now and not a girl not wearing any clothes who just happened to look like a cat. ~Damn~. He sighed. Nope. No chance of that happening.
The motion was a bad thing however and Catseye placed one paw firmly no his lower back, claws edging out in an amiable warning. The warm human pillow wasn't allowed to move. Ever. Unless she wanted access to a better warm spot and then it was claws to get him to move too anyway.
Claws. Ack. Kyle bit back an annoyed hiss and forcefully moved his rear and legs down on the bed. It was his bed, dammit, and he was going to be comfortable, claws in his back and why in the heck did that hurt so much be damned. He was supposed to have some healing thinger, he could take some clawing up. "My bed. Mine. " he said, as quietly as possible.
Catseye went very still under the covers at that - now, the human was being greedy. About the warm bed. Bad human. There was a faint stirring under the covers followed by an annoyed low growl and then very suddenly Kyle found himself confronted to a pair of lavender cats' eyes in a very human face. "Is Catseye's bed!" Leaning forward, nearly nose to nose with Kyle, Catseye frowned at him as she laid claim to the warm bed.
"Jesuschristmotherofgod." Kyle yelped loudly and scrambled out from under the covers. "No. Mine. MY bed." he scolded, baring his teeth. "You have a bed in your room where you can do all the naked sleeping you want as long as its not here in my bed." His heart was racing, and a small (not so small, and far more awake than the rest of him) part of him was smacking him upside the head for being an idiot. Kicking a perfectly good naked girl out of his bed. "And why in the heck are you in my bed anyway!"
Catseye beamed at him, leaning forward on her elbows and generally claiming as much of the bed as her six foot tall frame would allow. "It was warm and comfortable and Catseye thought that it smelled nice." That she was baring several assets in totally unconcerned ways was rather not hard to notice at that point.
"But its my bed." Kyle said, trying not to snarl. "Not yours. Mine. I sleep in it, it smells like me, and its mine." It wasn't nice to snarl at the new girl, but her claming his bed was really, really getting to him. It was his bed and that was that.
"Oookay!" She didn't feel like getting into a fight with the half-cat (dog?) boy, even though it was a nice bed and all. The old bald man had asked her to be nice about those things. So instead she flopped down on the bed and stretched luxuriantly, eyes half-closed and a low rumble of pleasure escaping her. It was a big bed. Probably because Kyle was as tall as she was.
Kyle sighed and glanced over at the other bed where Forge was seemingly dead to the world. Oooh, he was in for it in the morning. "I'm not gonna have any luck talking you into sleeping in your room, am I?" he asked, not expecting an answer. "That bed won't fit two people and unlike you, I don't turn into small cats."
With a lazy smile, Catseye tilted her head to the side, and then shifted right before his eyes instead of from under the covers. "Mrr!" She tumbled a bit to one side of the bed, preferring by far to actually cuddle up with someone rather than just sleep on her own, and batted the air lazily in a silent invitation, tail swishing slowly before settling into a nice curve.
Kyle sighed in relief. Okay he could handle a cat. He could. He was thanking God he'd slept in shorts for once, instead of just boxerbriefs, because as it was, he was about ready to die of embarrassment or need to retreat to the bathroom, or -something. He flopped down on the bed. With luck, he'd wake up and this would be just a freaky dream. Though, that would mean he hadn't gotten to see a naked girl. Okay, maybe he didn't want to wake up and have this be a dream. Now he was confused. With a sigh, he draped his arm over his eyes, stretched out on his back and waited for the inevitable weight of cat-settling-onto-random-bodypart.
It didn't take long for Catseye to select the only natural place to settle on in that kind of condition - slowly draping herself over his chest, nose firmly stuck under his chin, nudging a bit until he accommodated her to her taste. The purring was thunderous at first, though it soon settled into something more controlled - and possibly soothing, as well. She gave the other bed a pensive look, and decided to try that one in a little while, before the oddly metallic smelling (maybe like a car but she wasn't sure) boy woke up.
The bed was very comfortable.
