Kitty wakes up from her nap to find Jamie waiting for her.

Jamie: Jamie popped the last Twinkie into his mouth as he lost another game of solitaire, and rubbed his forehead. The aspirin wasn't helping nearly as much as he'd told Dr. McCoy it had been, but then, he didn't want to risk anything stronger making him drowsy. And speaking of drowsy, Kitty's soft snores behind him were starting to trail off; he turned around hopefully to see if it meant she was waking up.

Kitty: Falling asleep in a chair really wasn't a very clever thing to do. It was uncomfortable, and the lack of blankets meant it was cold, and really, it wasn't like she needed the neckstrain. She'd probably only been asleep for an hour or two when her muscles finally told her to give it up. Blinking to herself, KItty rolled her shoulders back and stretched her neck. Finally opening her eyes for real she realized that Jamie wasn't where she'd left him.
"Jamie?" she called out quietly, not sure if she should be worried or not.

Jamie: "If you keep falling asleep like that in the middle of the day, you're gonna wreck your sleep patterns, you know," Jamie said softly, smiling.

Kitty: Her head whipped around at the sound of his voice, and a wince crossed her features at the audible pop of her neck. "Er... I didn't mean to. I was going to stay awake until you woke up but... well, it obviously didn't work."

Jamie: "Yeah, that's what Dr. McCoy said. I figured you probably needed the rest." Jamie hooked another chair with one foot and dragged it next to his. "Want me to see if I can help your neck? I wanted to move you over to the bed once I got up, but nothing doing."

Kitty: She smiled. "Yes please. And yeah, I figured some kind soul might decide to do that and I... I didn't want to leave you. Besides, I've spent more time insubstantial than not today."

Jamie: "Well, I can't reach you from over there . . ." Jamie smiled. "I bet you were a big help out there."

Kitty: Kitty grinned and stood up, finally remembering to phase back in. "I hope so. And from what I hear you were as well." Her voice is gentle as she makes her way across the room.

Jamie: "Yeah, well . . . for a while, anyway. Remembered a lot more first aid than I thought I did, and there were enough people the lunch ladies appreciated an extra few hands."

Kitty: "I think you do yourself a diservice," Kitty said, settling down in front of Jamie. "From what I hear you were helping everyone everywhere."

Jamie: "Keeping the kids occupied wasn't work, it was fun. Doesn't count if it's fun." Jamie scooted up closer and started gently massaging Kitty's neck and shoulders. "I was mostly just glad everybody seemed pretty okay about me being everywhere."

Kitty: "Hmph," Kitty snorted, letting her head fall forwards. "Of course work can be fun. And keepign the kids distracted was really useful." She paused, enjoying the feeling of Jamie's strong hands. "I'm glad they were ok with it too," she said quietly. "I was kind of worried the first time I phased out where normals could see me."

Jamie: "Well, they would've had to be pretty stupid not to let you help. I bet we changed a lot of minds."

Kitty: "Oh, I hope so." She sighed. "I'm glad you're awake. Are you... are you ok?"

Jamie: "Skinned my knees and I've kinda got a headache, but I was just waiting around here for you to wake up. The doc gave me an only-slightly-smudged bill of health."

Kitty: Her head twisted up to look at him, a slight pop accompanying the movement. "Are you sure?"

Jamie: "How'm I supposed to give you a neck rub if you keep moving your neck? I'm fine. Nothing hit me. It was . . . all over when I got there."

Kitty: She frowned, then pulled away from him, twisting around in her seat. "And Dr. McCoy says you're ok? There wasn't any... backlash or something?"

Jamie: "Just the headache, and that's supposed to go away by tonight, he said, and I'm supposed to see him or the Professor if it doesn't. Guess I'm the one with nine lives, huh?"

Kitty: She smiled at him, then leaned over and wrapped her arms around him. "I'm glad," Kitty whispered, pressing a kiss to his shoulder.

Jamie: "Me too." Jamie returned the hug, pressing his face into her hair. "Now, what say we blow this popcorn stand and see if they sent all the sandwich stuff to the shelters? I dunno about you, but the last time I ate was yesterday's lunch."

Kitty: "You know, I'm not sure when the last time I ate was... probably sometime yesterday." Reluctantly Kitty let go of Jamie and stood up. "To the kitchen?"

Jamie: "Unless we started keeping the food in the library while I was out."

Kitty: She laughed. "Not that I've heard of, no."

Jamie: Jamie stood up and reached for Kitty's hand. "Kitchen it is, then, and I'll tell you how Rahne and I almost caught the Loch Ness Monster."

Kitty: "Oh really?" She arched an eyebrow as she took his hand. "Do tell."
