Log: Dani and Catseye
Jan. 6th, 2005 09:33 pmAfter being pelted with snow, Danielle makes a new friend and bed-mate. Because unlike Forge, she doesn't mind sharing.
Rolling over in the soft bed, Dani pulled the blankets around her tighter. This was a nice place, she had decided several nights back. Warm. And in no danger of having the heat turned off, which was definitely nice. And more than warm it was friendly. It didn't matter if you had heat as long as you had friends to curl up with.
Rolling over put her about two inches away from the pink nose, framed by lavender fur and eyes. Ear pricked forward, Catseye listened intently, looking far too pleased about Dani in particular andeverything else in general. The front paws Catseye was resting her chin one twitched just a bit, though she didn't move at all, rather reminiscent of a cat statue of some sort.
Dani opened her eyes, surprised to see a purple cat nearly touching her nose. "When'd you get in?" she asked, reaching out to let the cat sniff her before scratching behind her ears. She was well-versed in cat protocol.
Cats walk through walls. One day humans will get this. Then again, maybe not. Still, it was normal to inspect the newcomer at one point, even if Catseye had listened to what most of the humans here were saying, and giving her a bit of room to get used to things first. But now was the time. "Mmrrr." She edged forward a bit more, briefly touching her nose to Dani's, front paws finding their way on the bed as she looked at the girl contemplatively.
"So you're..." Dani tried to remember her name, "Catseye? The cat-girl?"
"Mmrrr." Seeing a cat nod surprised people sometimes, but since Dani had been here a few days, Catseye figured she'd deal with it nicely. She reached out with her paw, patting at her cheek lightly, wriggling a bit more onto the bed. Make room for the cat. You know you want to.
"Okay, okay!" Dani laughed, scooting over but taking the blankets with her, "Whatever you want. Just no sleeping on my face." she reached out and began scratching Catseye's ears in that hard-to-reach place.
"Mmmrrr..." The sound dissolved into a purr, Catseye squirming cheerfully until she could curl up next to Dani in the nicely warm spot on the bed. Stretching out to her full length, lavender paws stretching out and flexing lazily, Catseye added that much more to the purr. Kittens. She peeked over her shoulder at Dani's stomach, careful not to move too fast so as to not disloge her hand.
Dani raised an eyebrow, surprised that Catseye knew she was pregnant. Then again, she realized ruefully, she probably read the journals too. "It looks like an alien now, but give it a few weeks," Dani told Catseye. "Do you play with the computer mouse?" she wondered idly.
Catseye prefers real mousies. The purr shifted to something low and soothing as the cat nudged herself a little closer to Dani, practically radiating heat as she went limp. Pensively, Catseye rubbed her cheek on the girl's hand. Mine. Keep petting the cat now.
"Yes, yes, petting," Dani looked at Catseye who seemed more than content. "This place is really weird, ain't it, Catseye? And you're not even that weird!"
Humans are weird. Of course Catseye is not. A slow blink accompanied the thought and Catseye stretched out a bit more, purring never fading. A deliberate yawn then followed, the message clear in terms only a feline could state them. Sleep now. It's what cats do.
