Thursday Evening, in town.
Feb. 18th, 2005 01:00 amLorna and Alex go to the movies and are cute at each other. We know, that’s very shocking but at least we warned you. Also features irritating brats under the age of 13 and GTA: SA which Lorna knows more about than Alex. Go figure.
“Are men really that clueless?” Lorna asked, frowning at her feet or rather at the surprisingly slippery popcorn under it as they made their way out of row to the aisle. “Because I’ve never thought Will Smith was particularly smooth.”
"Dude! When trying to get the attention of the love of your life, men will do anything, try anything, be anything..." Alex smirked as he put an arm around her shoulder. "Of course I wasn't one of those men...I just had to be myself and snagged the most beautiful girl in school."
Lorna wrapped her arm around his waist and gave him a hug and kiss on the cheek, “Such a flatterer. I’m the lucky one. You got me but I’ve got you.” From behind them, she heard faint gagging noises. A quick glance confirmed the source as a pair of pre-teen boys. She snickered.
Playfully, Alex threw the boys a wink, followed by sticking out his tongue. "You know tonight they're going to be cursing my existence as they dream about you...because you’re all mine..."
“I think they’re too young to appreciate their loss. In their minds, I’m keeping you from playing GTA: San Andreas or something, horrible girl,” she sneered the word, “that I am,” She gave him another, rather smug kiss. “Notice how not sorry I am?”
Now that made Alex look at her curiously. "San Andreas what? Please do not tell me that's a video game because you know I'm not the video game type..." he smirked before kissing her. "You better not be sorry. This skater boy is all yours."
“It’s a video game,” she confirmed. “Blood, death, hookers. You know, good wholesome entertainment.” They exited the theatre and into the much noisier lobby. It smelled like popcorn and bubble gum and cheap plastic. Iconic.
"And you know this how?" he gave her a skeptical look. "I don't picture you as the video game type. The only ones I know are the ones I had to watch Shiro play or get beaten at by him." He took her hand, swinging it playfully as they walked past other cute couples and parents with screaming children.
Lorna shrugged, “I hear things. Run across the kids playing it sometimes. Catch commercials. Wanna get something to eat?” The popcorn smell was stirring her appetite; she automatically redirected it to visions of a bowl of green salad.
"Ahh, I usually clear out when they’re playing those games. How one can stand all that fake crap when there is a world a fresh-air to skate in I don't know." His stomach growled his response her to question and he smiled. "There's a pizza place right next door that serves awesome food."
Pizza. Hmm. Lorna made a couple of mental adjustments to her visions and nodded, “Sounds good.” She shivered as they went outside, “I think this is why they’re always playing games. It’s too cold for people around here.”
Alex wrapped his arms around her, letting his mutation warm them both. "Being unable to feel the cold as much is the one thing I do love about my mutation. But still, I'd be out in the cold anyway...I think I'm addicted to fresh air...and you." He nuzzled her neck as they walked.
She shivered again and laughed, “You can have as much of both as you like. I’m all yours.” She turned in his arms and walked backward, trusting him to guide them. She leaned in to whisper in his ear, “I love you.”
"Good, I'll be greedy then." He guided them to the entrance of the restaurant and he pushed her gently against the wall next to the door so he could kiss her properly in response to her last statement.
Lorna hummed in the back of her throat in approval as she kissed him back, uncaring of other eyes. She pulled him close and wrapped herself around him. “I like you greedy,” she murmured.
He nuzzled their noses together, eyes closed blissfully. "You know, if we keep this up, we might just have to skip dinner..." Alex's voice was lazy as he gently leaned against her.
“If we keep this up, we’ll get arrested,” she corrected, shifting lazily without making any efforts at all to extricate herself. “Unless you’re thinking we should skip and head home? I think there is cold pasta in the fridge in the suite.”
"Hmm I don't think Scott would approve..." He lazily looked down at his stomach then back up at her. "Suddenly...I'm not so hungry...for food anyway..." He leaned closer to her, kissing her neck lightly.
She gasped lightly and let her head fall back, “We should go then.” She curled her fingers through his hair, eyes closed, all her focus on him. She definitely wasn’t cold anymore.
One hand went up to cradle her head from the harsh brick behind her, the other around her waist. Alex looked up at her again, smiling a drunken smile. "Good idea, love." As he always did when in a romantic mood, he picked her up in his arms. "To your chariot, m'lady?"
“If you would please, good sir.” She curled up against him, trustingly. “With all haste.”
He cuddled her close, kissing the top of her head, as he started for the car. "As you wish, m'lady."
