Moira waits for Nathan on the docks of Muir Island and gives me news that perks him right up: she's coming home with him. Unfortunately, she tells him something's wrong with Hank. Plans are made to leave in the morning and that naps are in order.

Moira was actually waiting for him on the docks to Muir this time.
Nathan had apparently decided that scaring the living daylights out of
the soon to be mother of his child was a bad idea and had informed her
of the incoming flight and the time that he should be arriving. It
also helped that her uncle had called ahead when the exhausted looking
Nathan had shown up on his doorstep, looking for a ride over.

Nathan had a sudden, overwhelming sense of deja vu as the boat
approached the dock and he saw Moira standing there waiting for him,
her red hair the brightest spot of color amid all the grays and
subdued browns. #Hello, love,# he sent wearily, caressing the link as
the boat came to a gentle stop beside the dock. He hopped out, swaying
a little as he readjusted to solid ground.

She didn't waste any time wrapping her arms around him, not only to
steady him but also just to hold him again. There was news she was
brimming with but that could wait until he got in and settled. #Ye
look like a right mess,# she commented, the link opening up fully for
the first time in days.

Nathan held onto her for a long few moments before he even responded.
#Long week. Very long week.# Much of which he wasn't going to share
with her. No need to make her worry. He finally took a deep breath,
drawing back a little and smiling down at her a bit wanly. "You look
good. Sight for sore eyes and all."

Snuggling into his side, Moira beamed up at him. "Same wit' ye--even
if ye look like ye need sleep. Verra badly. I'm assumin' since Tim
isnae wit' ye, tha' 'e's stayin'?" She looked a little concerned but,
well, Nathan knew what he was doing.

"Tim's going to be fine. MacInnis and I came to an agreement." He
leaned in and kissed her quickly, forestalling any questions. For now,
at least. "And you're right. I do need to sleep."

Biting back what she was about to say, she smiled at him as they
walked through one of the side doors. "So--'ow much trouble would it
be ta change yer ticket an' get one tha' seats ye next ta me?" she
asked, innocently.

He brightened noticeably, his arm tightening around her. "No trouble
at all. Even without cheating telepathically. You're coming back?" It
was amazing, how much of the accumulated tension from the week lifted
off his shoulders as he digested that.

"Aye, tomorrow mornin'," Moira said softly, beaming at him. But it
was obvious that she was troubled. "Rory's replacement arrived.
Ye'll like 'im. Dr. Curt Connors. I'd would 'ave liked ta train 'im
a wee bit longer but...somethin's wron' wit' Henry."

"With Hank?" Nathan asked, bewildered. "What... did something happen
at the mansion while I was gone?"

"There's somethin' wron'. I...dinnae want ta say more until I'm
there." She knew he'd understand. She'd kept his virus and all his
folders under stricter lock and key before. "I'm sure 'e'll be fine
but...Maddie emailed me. So I'll be goin' 'ome earlier. Luckily,
Curt is wonderful an' will be jus' fine. Ye should met him an' 'is
family."

Nathan realized he was leaning a bit heavily on her, and stopped.
"You'll get it sorted out," he said a bit vaguely, his mind trying to
process the information, come up with possibilities. "Hank's problem,
I mean... whatever it is. And you bet I want to meet the new guy.
After a nap, though?"

"Naps are good," Moira agreed firmly, snuggling into his side even
more. Curt had been alerted to Nathan's arrival, and her
disappearance, and had good naturedly taken over a few of Moira's
experiments for the afternoon. "We'll get some sleep then, aye?"
