xp_logs | Earlier this week...

Walking past the medlab at about one in the morning, Sarah decided that now was as good a time as any to see if her roomate was doing any better. She was really beginning to hate this whole 'coma' thing. She moved past Doug dozing in the hallway, and slowly pushed the door open.

Angelo looked up, hearing the door open, and was a little surprised to see who it was. "Hey", he said simply.

"Oh." Sarah stopped for a moment in the doorway, considering her options. She'd hoped she wouldn't have to deal with anybody else. "I can come back later." She turned to leave.

Angelo called out to stop her, not wanting to chase anyone away. "Don't go. There's no point, anyway - I'm not going anywhere till she wakes up."

She turns to look at him, expression blank. Closing the door gently behind her, she leans against the doorjamb. "How is she?" she asks quietly.

"Still out", he answered. "Dr McCoy says she could wake up at any time, and he can't be sure when she will."

"Sounds familiar," she muttered under her breath. "Have you been here since it happened?"

"Yeah, Jono and I came down with her. I tried to get him to stay, but he was... upset. Have you seen him since it happened?" he asked suddenly.

"No, I don't want to bug him, y'know? I'm not sure if I'd want to be around anybody if I was him."

"Yeah, I know", Angelo answered quietly. "I just think maybe he needs to be around people, even if he doesn't want to. But it's his choice in the end, I guess..."

"He just needs to know we aren't afraid to be around him." She said, crossing her arms over her chest. "Because I'm sure that's what he's probably thinking."

"That, or worse", Angelo agreed. "I'm just afraid he thinks we - and especially Paige - will hate him for this."

"It would take a lot more than an accident to make me hate him." She paused, and then added, "I think he knows that."

"If he was thinking about it sensibly, he probably would", Angelo said thoughtfully. "But he's scared right now, and he didn't exactly have the greatest confidence to start with..."

Sarah shrugged. "We'll get through this. All of us." She runs a hand through her hair. "Besides, this is kids stuff."

"How do you mean?" Angelo asked, genuinely not understanding.

"We're not trying to kill each other. The question of Paige waking up is 'when' and not 'if'. The worst thing that could come out of this is a couple of temporary misunderstandings. Sounds pretty simple to me."

"As it stands, yeah. It could have been a lot worse", he answered. "But that doesn't mean it won't hit Jono hard."

"He'll make it. He's tough." She smirks. "Besides, I'm sure it won't be long before the 'comittee to make sure Jono knows we don't hate him' starts having weekly meetings."

"You just wait till Paige gets out of here", Angelo joked. "She'll be chairing those meetings."

"I'm sure. Now, I have to get out of here before I start going crazy. Madlabs. Ugh."

"OK", Angelo said. "Keep an eye on Jono, huh? If he ever comes out of his room, that is..."

Sarah smiles. "I'll tempt him with bloody movies and Thrill Kill Kult. We'll get him out eventually."

"Good", Angelo answers with a smile in return.
