Alex brings hot chocolate to his big blue older brother and they talk for a bit about being left behind, then Hank preceeds to show Alex the wonder that is Buffy.

Somehow he managed to open the door to Hank's room while holding a pot of his famous hot chocolate in one hand and two mugs in the other. "Hey big brother! Can i come in?" Frankly it was too late and Alex wasn't gonna leave but it helped to ask.

"Of course! Come on in!" Hank paused the DVD and smiled, eyeing the pot hopefully. Mmm. He smelled chocolate. "How are you doing, little brother?"

Grinning, Alex walked over and placed the pot and mugs down on the table so he could go over and hug Hank. "Lorna shooed me out so she could watch Narnia movies with Miles. So I decided to check on the big brothers...Whatcha watching?"

"Buffy! Fighting evil and winning. It's not only comforting, it involves attractive young women kicking butt." Hank grinned at him. "Want to watch some with me? I can get out the first-season DVDs again."

"Tell me where they are and I'll get them." Alex asked as he poured the hot chocolate then handed one of the mugs to Hank. "Let me pamper you, it's the least i can do."

"I never turn down pampering." Hank pointed. "And the boxes are in that big untidy pile beside the TV." He grinned. "Since I don't have to share my suite anymore, I can make a mess out here if I like. It's kind of fun."

Rolling his eyes, Alex laughed as he knelt down near the pile to dig out the requested DVDs. "Sounds like a dream! Lorna has a fit if I even leave my skateboard in the living room." Finding the one he wanted, Alex moved over to the DVD players and swtiched the disks.

"It is. Especially when walking still kind of hurts." Hank gestured to his leg, which was propped up on the coffee-table and a pillow. "I like having all my things out where I can find them, not shoved away in closets and things. Moira says I'm a slob. I prefer to think of it as efficient."

"I like that reasoning, "Alex responded as he settled on the couch next to Hank, grabbing his own mug. "And ya know if ya ever need anything, give me a yell. I'm right down the hall."

"I will." Hank gave him a quick hug, and settled back to sip his hot chocolate. "Mmm... chocolatey goodness." He gestured to the bowls of chips and candy on the coffee-table - he always snacked when he watched Buffy. "Help yourself, by the way. And... how are you doing? Having Scott and Lorna... and yours truly... going off all at once must have been rough.'

Alex shrugged slightly, staring down into the dark liquid. "It was difficult...especially after all the worrying I was already doing about Scott. I hate to admit, but I regressed to some habits I haven't done in over a year..." His legs till hurt from sitting in the same postion all of Saturday but he wasn't going to admit it, not when Hank was hurt so much more.

Hank nodded. "It's never good to be left behind while those you love go into danger." He touched Alex's shoulder gently. "But we all look out for each other. And, God willing, we won't face anything like that again, at least not for a good long time."

He closed his eyes. "It hurts more everytime...but I guess it's just something I have to get used too..." Alex leaned into Hank's touch as long as it didn't hurt him. "I know...oh I know...but this place being as it is...there's always a next time."

Hank looped an arm around Alex's shoulders, giving him a reassuring squeeze. "There is. But we come back again."

Alex snuggled into Hank's side. "You guys better..." He mumbled into the blue fur.

Hank hugged him gently. "We will," he said gently. "Hey, I miraculously survived my illness, didn't I? Thanks to Madelyn and Remy. We all look out for each other."

Sighing, he picked up his head to look up at Hank. "Yeah...I know...Still don't have to like it." The last part was said with a soft chuckle.

"I'd be very surprised if you did." Hank smiled at him. "I know it's futile to tell you not to worry, but... I'll keep an eye on them, for you. And they'll keep one on me. Okay?"

Alex nodded, burying his head back into the blue fur, turning back to the screen. "So what's this show about again?"

"Cute teenage girl with a destiny to save the world from evil. Vampires specifically, and demons, warlocks, and so on in general." Hank smiled. "She squeaks when she beats them up. It's quite charming."

"Is it sad that she could fit right in here?" Alex couldn't hold in the giggles at the squeak comment, reminded of Lorna and not when she was beating someone up. He blushed just thinking about it.

"She really would. Although I think some of the other students would eat her alive." Hank grinned. "And just wait until you find out about her One True Love..."

"One True Love? He doesn't have green hair does he?" He grinned, his thoughts still on Lorna.

"No... but he could outbrood any two denizens of the mansion with his leather coat tied behind his back." Hank snickered. He'd never had a lot of patience with Angel. "He's just that angsty."

"Oh he would definatly fit in!" That thought made Alex laugh. "This place can be too angsty at times...but then again we do earn it with stuff like this weekend going on..."

"If there's ever an Olympic Brooding event, I'm sure some of our students and staff would be out there representing our country," Hank said, amused. "Now. Let us watch, and be reassured that evil can get its butt kicked in just under an hour, including commercial breaks."

Then Alex goes to find Scott 'practicing' with hsi crutches. After helping him into bed, they too talk about worrying, but the angst is broken by a guest appearance from Horatio!

Knocking on the door, Alex stuck his head through the door. "Scott?" In response, he heard a crash from the bed room. Running to make sure his brother was alright, Alex had to cover his mouth with his hand to stop from giggling at the sight of Scott struggling to stand using his new crutches. "Need some help there bro?"

"Don't laugh at me," Scott muttered, and instead of it coming out sounding aggravated, it sounded vaguely petulant. But this hurt, damn it - not just the knee, but everything else, he was black and blue all over from being slammed around during the flooding of the bunker. Plus his damned head was spinning. The painkillers, he suspected, which weren't doing their job anyway. How very ironic.

Biting his bottom lip to stop the chuckles, Alex walked over and helped Scott back onto the bed. "Having troubles with the crutches? Because it looks like they attacked you..." That was it, he couldn't hold in the giggles anymore.

"Sure, laugh," Scott said tiredly, sinking back against the pillows. "Heartless brat..." It took a fair amount of effort to swing his leg back up onto the bed, and he winced as he did it.

Alex smiled as he helped Scott rearrange his hurt limbs, blankets and pillows. "You still love me you know it...So besides rescuing from the crutchs, anything I get for you? I did come by to see how you were, not to laugh at you promise."

"Clone me," Scott muttered, wincing a little as he settled back onto the bed. "Clone me and give me a new body. That'd be nice..."

"I'll have Forge get right on." Alex settled down in the chair next to the bed and leaned forward, his elbows on his knees. "Seriously, how ya feelin bro?"

"You know how they say it hurts more the day after? They lie. Hurts worse the day after that." Scott grimaced, running a hand through his disheveled hair. "Damn it, it's just bruises, too..." Well, bruises and the knee. And a number of cuts, a couple of which had required a few stitches.

"Bruises can hurt the worst dude. Then they get all sore and stiff....But you don't wanna here that." Alex fought back another grin. "Besides that, how ya feeling?"

"Fine..." It didn't come out sounding particularly convincing, though, and Scott sighed. "Well, not horrible. Didn't sleep well again last night..." More dreams, the fight on Your a twisted in all kinds of awful ways.

"Not sleep well because of pain or because of nightmares, 'cuse we both know that's a big difference." The fact Scott hadn't slept well concerned him, because Alex knew he wouldn't get better if he didn't.

"Both." Maybe getting up hadn't been such a good idea. But he was getting so sick of sitting around, useless when stuff needed to be done, and to be perfectly honest he needed to do something. Otherwise he'd just rehash Saturday in his head over and over.

He didn't have to say anything, Alex knew he was getting restless. "Dude, ya want some help with the crutches? I'm sure If I'm here they won't be so ready to attack you...thought not right now...you need some rest after that last attempt."

"I think I'll stay right here for a few minutes," Scott said a bit unevenly, one hand going to his side. "Damn, this is frustrated... one stupid moment and suddenly I've got only one good leg."

"Hey now! I'm sure it wasn't stupid at the time, just seems like it now." Alex reached over and took Scott's hand a squeezed it vice giving him a hug. "Frankly, I'd rather see you in here with a broken leg then you not coming backa t all..."

"Not broken, just dislocated," Scott said with a sigh. "And it was a dumb mistake. I was just so tired by then..."

"I'm sure to the people you saved it wasn't dumb. Just stop it. Your here where I can pamper you and your going to get better and boss everyone around again like normal. "He grinned to show he was clearly kidding.

He suspected it would probably not be helpful to tell Alex he'd saved two people who were probably going to be executed, or at the least put in prison for the rest of their lives. "I can boss people around from here," he bantered weakly, instead. "All I need is a laptop, you know."

"Yes but you loom so well and you can't do that from a bed." He grinned, having fun kidding his brother. "Just doesn't have the same effect."

"Right. Can you grab me a drink, maybe?" He was thirsty, even if the painkillers were doing bad things to his stomach. "There's some ginger ale in the fridge, I think..."

Alex quickly jumped up and retrieved the soda, plus a glass with ice. He poured the drink as he returned to Scott's side then handed him the glass. "Anything else?"

Scott took a grateful sip of the cold ginger ale. He'd worked up a bit of a sweat, experimenting with the crutches. "Think I'm okay," he said when Alex continued to gaze down at him expectantly. "Not really hungry or anything..."

Alex frowned but nodded. "Well, I still have some chicken soup made from I forced some on Lorna...Let me know when ic an get you some alright? I made alot for this very purpose...:

"Okay..." The bed was actually quite nice. Why had he been so eager to get out of it? Scott sighed and sipped at his gingerale again.

Alex looked down at his hands, at the wall, at the bed...before glancing back at Scott. "So...Anything else I can get for you, or anything you wanna talk about?"

"You could feed my turtle?" Scott smiled a bit. "Hank did it when he was in here this morning, but he needs to be fed again."

Grinning, Alex jumped up and went over to the cage. And after he replaced the food in the cage, he picked up the small turtle. "Come on Hortatio, your owner needs some cheering up." He brought the turtle over and placed him on Scott's tummy smirking.

Scott rolled his eyes at Alex. "You realize I'm going to have to get out of bed just to wash my hands, now." But he couldn't help a smile at the turtle, who looked at him inquisitively. It was an inquisitive look. He knew Horatio's expressions by now. "Sean thought he was cute," he said, remembering his suitemate's reaction to the new addition when he'd arrived back at the mansion.

"Hand wipes are your friend bro. And your not going to make me hurt Horatio's feelings by putting him back now are you?" Alex leaned back in the chair grinning at the smile on Scott's face directed at the turtle. "And how wouldn't think he was cute? he's donw right precious..."

Horatio, rather than wandering, just peered around, his head moving back and forth. Scott watched the turtle studying his surroundings, then glanced sideways at Alex. "You were going to feed him," he pointed out.

The response was Alex rolling his eyes. "He has fresh food waiting in his cage, but I thought he should come out and see you!"

Horatio really wasn't growing all that fast, Scott reflected, watching him. Maybe he needed to be fed more. "Not quite as cuddly as a puppy," he told the little turtle, "but you do have your charms."

"Come now, you and a puppy? Personality's wouldn't mix. You and Horatio are perfect for each other." He nodded knowingly.

"Yeah, I know. Hence why no puppy." Scott took another sip of his ginger ale. "Put him back? He's leaving little wet footprints..."

Nodding, Alex picked up the small turtle and placed him back in his cage where he preceded to munch away at his new food. Digging some wipes out of the bathroom, he returned to Scott's side.

Clean-up accomplished, although the little turtle footprints on his shirt were still there, Scott picked up his ginger ale again. "So tell me you're sleeping, between running back and forth between Lorna and me," he teased lightly.

Rolling his eyes, Alex nodded again. "Oh and don't forget Hank too. We watched Buffy today." Then he shook his head smiling. "Yes I'm sleeping, don't worry. I'm the one whose doing the worrying for now..."

"Shouldn't worry too much. We're both going to be all right, you know."

He nodded, then ducked his head, biting his lower lip. "As I told Hank...I just hate being the one left behind. Especailly this time when all three of you went...I couldn't help it."

"It was important, Alex," Scott said quietly. "Very important."

"I know Scott...I know. I know how important it was and you guys were needed. And I know it sounds selfish, but I can't help it..." He looked down, suddenly embarrassed,

Scott reached out and poked him lightly in the arm. "You can worry as much as you want, you know," he said gently, then his voice grew more serious. "As long as you don't even try and tell us not to go."

That made him give Scott a small smile. "Wouldn't dream of it...I don't like it but I'm not going to say anything about you guys not going..."

"That's good." Scott patted Alex's arm. "We'll try not to give you too much reason to worry, then..."

Alex grinned softly. "You better not..." He saw Scott's eyes begin to droop so he stood up and pulled up the covers. "Your tired, get some rest bro."

Scott saw Alex put the glass of gingerale down on the bedside table and made a mental note of that. "Yeah, old and decrepit person that I am...." he murmured, resettling his leg. "Thanks, brat."

"You better old manor I'll sic Horatio on you. He'll cute you to death!" Alex took Scott's hand and squeezed it. "I'm glad your going to be alright bro and if you need me, I'm right down the hall..."
