x_crowdofone "Didn't work, huh?" *looks uncertainly after Scott* "Maybe just as well . . ."

x_dazzler You do realize they won't dare to actually ask you again later? Look at them... *shrugs towards the kids, all staring at Scott with varying degrees of uncertainty*

x_rahne *looks toward Alison and Scott* "He pointed at his glasses. ...They donna have goggles of any sort at the stands here, do they? That might be watertight?"

x_rahne *looks sheepish, shrugs* "If 'twas the only reason, I mean."

x_synch *shrugs* "I don't think so. We can ask later. Maybe he just doesn't like water rides?"

x_kitten They probably dont have ones that would go *over* his glasses...

x_crowdofone "I think they'd have to have special lenses."

x_tarot *Looks cautiously at the entrance to the ride* Maybe he's worried they'll fall off? But.. he said a roller coaster.

x_rahne "I'd meant... big joke ones, that would go over. ...But even if they did have those he might not like them."

x_rahne *realizing that this might be taken the same way as the birdseed, in theory*

x_tarot "And I guess it is not very fun to have to ride with your eyes closed..."

x_rahne *tilts head* "Och, it might be, though. If it didn't make you dizzy...."

x_crowdofone *winces* Joke anything would . . .probably be a bad idea.

x_rahne "I'm sorry. I..." *shrugs* "I think... I'll shut my eyes for the ride though. To see whether 'tis fun for me. If he's not along he won't mind it."

x_synch "I'm going to too. Don't worry about it."

x_tarot "I think I would still rather know when the water is gonig to hit me. I don't think I could make myself keep my eyes closed..."

x_rahne "I'd likely shut them if I saw the water coming anyway!"

x_crowdofone I think I'd get seasick with my eyes closed. It's no roller coaster but these things do kinda go up and down.

x_rahne *eyes Jono, suddenly worried* "Jono? ...I'd not like to be rude, please don't think so, but you will be all right? With the splashing?"

x_kitten *shrugs* I really don't think he'd care one way or the other how we were going to ride. It's really just whether or not he wants to, and how. Apparently he doesn't.

x_rahne *ducks a bit and looks at Kitty* I hadn't meant to bother him....

x_sparky *turns away from conversation with Terry and looks at Rahne* The hat could get wet.

x_rahne *looks up again. Seriously,* "Will that damage it?"

x_synch *grins* "We can stick the hat in someone's bag, maybe?"

x_crowdofone *grins* And if the dye leaks, you'll get pink hair. Lorna'll die of joy.

x_tarot *looks over at Jono cautiously" Pink would be a good color on you.

x_cyclops ((the kids would notice that after a bit, Scott and Alison depart, in separate directions, and neither toward the kids))

x_kitten *listens* I could hold the hat for you and phase, if you're really worried about it...

x_tarot "But the point of the ride is to get wet, no?"

x_kitten *shrugs* I would still get a little wet. Enough that it wouldn't be remarked upon... Other than that I don't care

x_rahne *looks back toward adults and says quietly* "It looks like neither one's coming, now...."

x_synch *shrugs. isn't too worried by adults* "We can get the ride over with."

x_tarot "I do not think it was you either, Jamie. Teachers are supposed to know that students make mistakes."

x_rahne *laughs a little weakly at Ev* "I think 'getting it over with' isn't quite the usual idea either."

x_rahne "And Professor Braddock will get us if we don't." *solemnly*

x_rahne "It is." *takes a hesitant step that way, looks at the rest of the group*

x_synch *sighs. just knows he's going to be the one who comes out drenched* "Come on, guys."

x_tarot *smiles* But it is the point to get drenched!

x_rahne "I did fly from Scotland...." *looks at Ev uncertainly* "Not the school jet, though."

x_crowdofone *thinks* Well, the jet was pretty close. That thing's cool.

x_kitten A roller coaster is takes you up really high, then uses the potential energy you gain off the first hill to send you careening down into a valley and up over the next hill, whhich has to be smaller, and so on and so on...

x_synch *frowns and tries to think of something else.*

x_cyclops *smiles broadly at Jamie* "Yes, yes it is."

x_rahne *looks a bit enlightened at Marie* "Yes. Like on a good hill?"

x_tarot "Exactly like on a good hill, without havnig to carry the sled back up"

x_synch "Only faster. And a lot higher."

x_tarot "and not as cold!"

x_rahne "Ooh." *grins a bit* "It does sound like fun then...."

x_kitten *the ride is opened for people to start getting in seats*

x_cyclops *snaps his fingers* "Sledding! I haven't done that in a long time. Good analogy."

x_cyclops "Just remember we have limited seats on the bus back. Not too many large stuffed animals." *smiles*

x_synch *is oblivious to shyness, but enjoying company* "Huh. Didn't know the ground was supposed to go in that direction."

x_tarot "I will be okay. It doesn't get too knotted."

x_synch "I'll be okay without a towel."

x_kitten Marie, you're lucky. My hair's probably a mess by now... *self conciously moves her free hand to smooth it down*

x_rahne *runs a hand experimentally through hers, catches tangles and sighs*

x_tarot "I think that the length kept it from getting tangly. But you don't have wet hair crawling into your shorts, so I think we are even."

x_cyclops *Scott starts steering them, albeit with them a bit drunkenly walking at first, toward the coaster*

x_crowdofone *grins up at it* I've never been on one this big. Mom wouldn't let me, when I was young enough to go.

x_cyclops "There's not that much spinning. And if you're frightened, then you should sit in the middle."

x_tarot "I have not been on any roller coaster with upside down parts."

x_synch "I claim the middle."

x_kitten Me too!

x_rahne *eyes Ev warily* "...All right." *swallows*

x_synch *eyes Rahne* "Uh. Do you want the middle instead?"

x_cyclops "Front is most scary when you're waiting to start going down a hill, and the rest of the cart is still on its way up."

x_synch "I'll be okay on the edge. You'll just have to be a guide again when the ground moves."

x_rahne *tilts head and looks at Scott* "You're always in front on a sled...."

x_cyclops "But the back is the worst, because you see it all coming to you last."

x_kitten Oh, I'm not worried about the hill... I'm worried about the apex.

x_cyclops *grins back at Rahne* "Yes.

x_tarot "On the ones without hills, the back shakes more too."

x_rahne *laughs* "I've never ridden any of the places, so I canna really guess."

x_rahne *peeks nervously over the edge*

x_tarot *sits in middle, near front, pulls down restraintover head*

x_kitten *the ride begins. The whole thing gives a little lurch as the cars are tugged into motion and the little clicking sound starts as they are pulled up the hill*

x_tarot *squeaks, grabs Jono's arm without realizing it, as they near the top of the hill*

x_synch *squeezes eyes shut.*

x_crowdofone *is not quite so fearless as he was on the ground* Huh. This is kinda high up.

x_rahne *peeks over edge again, swallows, sits back and tries to think of sledding*

x_kitten *the first cart reaches the top, and hessitates, while the rest move just a few inches forward...*

x_rahne *squeak*

x_tarot *shuts eyes* "I am not looking. I am not looking. Someone tell me when we're back on the ground"

x_kitten *And they're off! The whole thing picks up momentum as it reaches begins to careen down the hill*

x_cyclops *raises hands over head*

x_kitten Eeep!

x_crowdofone *clutches restraints* Wheeaaaaahhh!

x_tarot *Merde. Merde. Merde. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.*

x_synch *tentatively raises hands over head*

x_kitten *At the bottom of the first hill it makes a sharp turn, pushing peopel against their restraints, and zooms back up the next one*

x_rahne *shrieks*

x_cyclops *keeps hand up and starts screaming*

x_kitten *the second hill is crested and as it shudders down the next one you can see the first loop coming up*

x_synch *is screaming. and clutching restraints.*

x_tarot *cracks eyes open, sees loop, slams eyes shut again*

x_crowdofone *grins, panting, and puts his hands up as they go down the second hill*

x_kitten *kitty cries out, ducks under Jamie's arm and hides her eyes*

x_rahne *is breathing very raggedly, squinting, does not scream due to not having breath for it*

x_kitten *They swoop up the hill, and there's a half second of free fall as they reach the apex before coming quickly down the far side*

x_rahne *stomach is somewhere on the last hill*

x_crowdofone Woohoooo!! *is now having lots of fun*

x_synch *has decided this is scary. and kind of cool.*

x_tarot *Screams bloody murder*

x_synch *okay. really cool.*

x_kitten *at the bottom of the loop it turns again, and there's not even time to be pushed against the restraints as the third hill rises in front of them*

x_tarot *Has decided that this is scary as all getout, but might be okay after the third or fourth ride*

x_kitten *another sharp turn, this one shoving them sideways with almost enough force to trigger a d
dupe, and there's a second loop ahead, maybe 3/4 the size of the first*

x_kitten *kitty peeks up, sees the loop, shrieks again, and hides some more*

x_rahne *thinks that sledding hills were never like THIS*

x_rahne *...but it might've been kind of fun if they were, but hard to hold on*

x_tarot *Still screaming, and clutching the restraints and poor Jono's wrist*

x_crowdofone *gacks and grabs the restraints briefly at the sideways shove, looks wildly around hoping there's not dupe stew on the ground*

x_synch *has given up on closing eyes. has decided this is definitely really, really cool.*

x_rahne *is, incidentally, clinging to restraint for dear life*

x_kitten *the pause at the top of the second loop feels as though it lasts forever, although it's probably only a second or two, and the ride down it is immidiately followed by a quick jaunt up the next hill*

x_tarot *peeks eyes open, sees world go around* "ERP!"

x_kitten *at the bottom of this hill there's another quick turn and the second to last hill rises before them*

x_synch *peers over edge of coaster*

x_kitten *the last hill is the smallest, and the coast to the bottom of it the slowest. the ride comes to a not so gentle stop, although it's again just shy of causing Jamie to dupe*

x_rahne *breathes deeply and a little shakily* "...Wow...?"

x_kitten *kitty looks up just before the last hill, and keeps her eyes open through that one, although she's still leaning against Jamie*

x_sparky *holding onto his hat*

x_synch *beams. oooo, lookit the ground spin.*

x_synch "Okay, that was kind of cool."

x_tarot *Unclutches Jono's arm" Sorry about that. I didn't mean to...

x_kitten *the ride stops and the restraints are released*

x_rahne "...I'm not sure I'll be much use as a guide this time, Ev." *still swaying slightly*
