x_cyclops *looks at Rahne, then at where Alison is lurking*
x_cyclops "I do need to speak to Betsy. What a great idea. Thank you, Rahne." *smiles*

x_dazzler *notices the look, and returns a totally innocent expression in return*

x_cyclops "Perhaps a roller coaster later, though."
x_cyclops *heads off to find Betsy*

x_sparky *tries to edge away from the rest*

x_rahne *looks back at Alison and shrugs, then comes back over*

x_dazzler *sighs and heads for Scott*

x_tarot *follows behind Rahne* "That was.. strange."

x_rahne *looks after Alison in confusion. Quietly,* "Where d'ye think she's going? If he doesna want to...."

x_dazzler *eyes Scott* Ahem. 'Perhaps a roller coaster later?'

x_cyclops "I don't like water rides."

x_crowdofone "Didn't work, huh?" *looks uncertainly after Scott* "Maybe just as well . . ."

x_cyclops *points at visor*

x_dazzler You do realize they won't dare to actually ask you again later? Look at them... *shrugs towards the kids, all staring at Scott with varying degrees of uncertainty*

x_siryn ::notices Jono trying to sneak away and grabs his sleeve:: Have you seen that big purple alligator over there? Isn't he neat? ::grins innocently:

x_rahne *looks toward Alison and Scott* "He pointed at his glasses. ...They donna have goggles of any sort at the stands here, do they? That might be watertight?"
x_rahne *looks sheepish, shrugs* "If 'twas the only reason, I mean."

x_synch *shrugs* "I don't think so. We can ask later. Maybe he just doesn't like water rides?"

x_kitten They probably dont have ones that would go *over* his glasses...

x_crowdofone "I think they'd have to have special lenses."

x_tarot *Looks cautiously at the entrance to the ride* Maybe he's worried they'll fall off? But.. he said a roller coaster.

x_rahne "I'd meant... big joke ones, that would go over. ...But even if they did have those he might not like them."
x_rahne *realizing that this might be taken the same way as the birdseed, in theory*

x_tarot "And I guess it is not very fun to have to ride with your eyes closed..."

x_rahne *tilts head* "Och, it might be, though. If it didn't make you dizzy...."

x_crowdofone *winces* Joke anything would . . .probably be a bad idea.
x_crowdofone And this is me saying it.

x_rahne "I'm sorry. I..." *shrugs* "I think... I'll shut my eyes for the ride though. To see whether 'tis fun for me. If he's not along he won't mind it."

x_synch "I'm going to too. Don't worry about it."

x_tarot "I think I would still rather know when the water is gonig to hit me. I don't think I could make myself keep my eyes closed..."

x_rahne "I'd likely shut them if I saw the water coming anyway!"

x_crowdofone I think I'd get seasick with my eyes closed. It's no roller coaster but these things do kinda go up and down.

x_rahne *eyes Jono, suddenly worried* "Jono? ...I'd not like to be rude, please don't think so, but you will be all right? With the splashing?"

x_kitten *shrugs* I really don't think he'd care one way or the other how we were going to ride. It's really just whether or not he wants to, and how. Apparently he doesn't.

x_rahne *ducks a bit and looks at Kitty* I hadn't meant to bother him....

x_sparky *turns away from conversation with Terry and looks at Rahne* The hat could get wet.

x_rahne *looks up again. Seriously,* "Will that damage it?"

x_synch *grins* "We can stick the hat in someone's bag, maybe?"

x_crowdofone *grins* And if the dye leaks, you'll get pink hair. Lorna'll die of joy.

x_tarot *looks over at Jono cautiously" Pink would be a good color on you.

x_cyclops ((the kids would notice that after a bit, Scott and Alison depart, in separate directions, and neither toward the kids))

x_kitten *listens* I could hold the hat for you and phase, if you're really worried about it...

x_crowdofone But then you wouldn't get wet.

x_synch "Why is that a bad thing? Being dry is good."

x_tarot "But the point of the ride is to get wet, no?"

x_crowdofone Because the whole point of a water ride is to get wet.

x_kitten *shrugs* I would still get a little wet. Enough that it wouldn't be remarked upon... Other than that I don't care

x_rahne *looks back toward adults and says quietly* "It looks like neither one's coming, now...."

x_tarot *frowns a little* What did we do?

x_crowdofone I don't think it was you guys.

x_rahne "I hope not."

x_synch *shrugs. isn't too worried by adults* "We can get the ride over with."

x_tarot "I do not think it was you either, Jamie. Teachers are supposed to know that students make mistakes."

x_kitten *speaks up at this* Yeah, well...

x_rahne *laughs a little weakly at Ev* "I think 'getting it over with' isn't quite the usual idea either."

x_kitten sometimes they forget we're kids.

x_crowdofone Yeah, but--eh. Never mind. We're here to have fun, right?

x_rahne "And Professor Braddock will get us if we don't." *solemnly*

x_tarot *looks over at ride* That is.. .. big.

x_rahne "It is." *takes a hesitant step that way, looks at the rest of the group*

x_kitten Well, come on then... *heads off in that direction*

x_crowdofone Well, let's go then. *grin* Should be fun.

x_synch *sighs. just knows he's going to be the one who comes out drenched* "Come on, guys."

x_tarot *smiles* But it is the point to get drenched!
x_tarot *follows Kitty, and Jamie and Rahne* Come on! Its warm, you'll dry.

x_synch *grumbles something about is glad he wore long sleeves and is going to freeze*

x_rahne "I think there are towels in the bus, Ev." *smiles a bit encouragingly and drops back beside him*

x_kitten I can calculate the acceleration of one, but I can't ride on them.

x_rahne "Well, I was only surprised -- Is it that cold for you here? It feels warm enough to me."

x_synch "You're not as wet as I am. I do want to go on one. Just after I'm dry."

x_rahne *blinks up at Scott in confusion* "I -- I don't know, Professor Summers. I mean, I don't know if I like them or not; I've never been on one."

x_crowdofone *grins at Kitty* Because the legions of doom are very persuasive. It doesn't go fast, honest.

x_kitten No, but it goes round and round and round and ... *looks a little green*

x_rahne *looks ahead at Kitty, a bit worriedly*

x_synch *oh-so-casually wanders closer to mr. summers and rahne. just in case he has to deliver another professor smackdown.*

x_cyclops "Hmm. I'm trying to find something to compare it to then, to give you an idea. Can anyone else think of something?"

x_kitten What? *looks back* the ride you mean?

x_cyclops "Roller coasters."

x_synch "Did you go in the jet, Rahne?"

x_crowdofone *pats Kitty's shoulder* It'll be fine.

x_kitten *smiles at Jamie, the turns to Rahne*

x_rahne *shyly* "I'd like to try it, I think -- I didn't mean I didn't want to, I just never have."

x_tarot *looks at Scott, then at Rahne* You have been sledding, yeS?

x_rahne "I did fly from Scotland...." *looks at Ev uncertainly* "Not the school jet, though."

x_crowdofone *thinks* Well, the jet was pretty close. That thing's cool.

x_kitten A roller coaster is takes you up really high, then uses the potential energy you gain off the first hill to send you careening down into a valley and up over the next hill, whhich has to be smaller, and so on and so on...

x_synch *frowns and tries to think of something else.*

x_cyclops *smiles broadly at Jamie* "Yes, yes it is."

x_rahne *looks a bit enlightened at Marie* "Yes. Like on a good hill?"

x_tarot "Exactly like on a good hill, without havnig to carry the sled back up"

x_synch "Only faster. And a lot higher."

x_tarot "and not as cold!"

x_rahne "Ooh." *grins a bit* "It does sound like fun then...."

x_synch "It is if you're not wet."

x_kitten *the ride is opened for people to start getting in seats*

x_cyclops *snaps his fingers* "Sledding! I haven't done that in a long time. Good analogy."

x_rahne *looks up at Scott shyly* "Does it snow enough here?"

x_tarot *smiles* We had a lot of snow last winter.

x_crowdofone Wish we had decent sledding hills in Kansas.

x_cyclops "Probably not as much as back home, but we can get our fair share."

x_synch *snags seat. eyes restraints dubiously.*

x_kitten *Follows Jamie to a seat*

x_rahne *takes next seat*

x_tarot *climbs into seat*

x_cyclops *examines seat, figures out if he can fit into it, and if so, climbs in*

x_crowdofone *hops in, buckles up* You take the swing behind me, and then glare at the back of my head.
x_crowdofone *Jamie completely unselfconsciously sticks his arms out and makes airplane noises during the ride*

x_rahne *spends most of the ride looking around curiously and a bit nervously once it starts swinging out*
x_rahne *nervous, but having fun anyway*

x_synch *spents ride either grinning like an idiot or grumbling because he's wet. and there's wind.*

x_tarot *kicks feet around a little*

x_kitten *kitty follows Jamie's instructions*
x_kitten *swing ride goes... swing ride ends*

x_cyclops *as they exit* "Any drier?"

x_synch "Kind of. Just dizzy."

x_crowdofone I'm about ready for a coaster. And then I wanna see if I can find Sarah and get her on the throwy games, she'd kick butt.

x_kitten *stumbles getting out of chair, and stands up, leaning slightly* Very dizzy...
x_kitten *walks forward, wobbling and failing to go in a straight line*

x_crowdofone *moves back to offer Kitty an arm to help her balance*

x_rahne *adjusts clothing more comfortably in some relief, looks at Ev and Kitty* "Are you two OK...?"

x_crowdofone Sorry, I didn't think it'd be that bad.

x_kitten Thanks. *leans agains Jamie*

x_cyclops *is perfectly fine and balanced as he leaves*

x_kitten I'm ok Rahne. Just... spinning. lots of spinning. *she grins*

x_rahne *is a little wobbly, but mostly all right, I think*

x_synch "I'm good. Just dizzy. Whoops."

x_synch *cheerfully staggers vaguely sideways*

x_cyclops "Just try to walk straight."

x_kitten *laughs as the world begins to settle down, but doesn't let go of Jamie's arm*

x_rahne *cautiously moves beside Ev in an attempt to play guiderail* ((Guide dog?))

x_crowdofone *grins at Kitty* You wanna come with me to find Sarah after the coaster? I'm telling you, she'll have the entire mansion carpeted in stuffed animals. You should've seen her at darts the other day.

x_rahne *looks at Marie* "We should have brought a hairbrush..."

x_kitten *grins back* That sounds like a plan. Hey Ev, you still need a towel or can we just go to the coaster?

x_cyclops "Just remember we have limited seats on the bus back. Not too many large stuffed animals." *smiles*

x_synch *is oblivious to shyness, but enjoying company* "Huh. Didn't know the ground was supposed to go in that direction."

x_tarot "I will be okay. It doesn't get too knotted."

x_synch "I'll be okay without a towel."

x_rahne *laughs*

x_kitten Marie, you're lucky. My hair's probably a mess by now... *self conciously moves her free hand to smooth it down*

x_crowdofone Nah, it's fine.

x_rahne *runs a hand experimentally through hers, catches tangles and sighs*

x_tarot "I think that the length kept it from getting tangly. But you don't have wet hair crawling into your shorts, so I think we are even."

x_kitten Nice of you to say so... *finger combs out a few tangles*

x_cyclops *Scott starts steering them, albeit with them a bit drunkenly walking at first, toward the coaster*

x_rahne *looks up, a bit awed*

x_tarot "Mon Dieu!"

x_synch *eyes warily* "Not cool."

x_kitten Oh dear... more spinning.

x_crowdofone *grins up at it* I've never been on one this big. Mom wouldn't let me, when I was young enough to go.

x_cyclops "There's not that much spinning. And if you're frightened, then you should sit in the middle."

x_tarot "I have not been on any roller coaster with upside down parts."

x_synch "I claim the middle."

x_kitten Me too!

x_rahne *eyes Ev warily* "...All right." *swallows*

x_synch *eyes Rahne* "Uh. Do you want the middle instead?"

x_rahne "I have no idea."

x_cyclops "Front is most scary when you're waiting to start going down a hill, and the rest of the cart is still on its way up."

x_synch "I'll be okay on the edge. You'll just have to be a guide again when the ground moves."

x_rahne *tilts head and looks at Scott* "You're always in front on a sled...."

x_cyclops "But the back is the worst, because you see it all coming to you last."

x_kitten Oh, I'm not worried about the hill... I'm worried about the apex.

x_cyclops *grins back at Rahne* "Yes.

x_tarot "On the ones without hills, the back shakes more too."

x_cyclops "

x_crowdofone Edge is fine with me. Do you want front or back, Kitty?

x_rahne *swallows, resolves* "I'll ride wherever."

x_cyclops *Scott moves to the front of the coaster*

x_tarot *waits to see what seats are left before sitting*

x_kitten Um... front?

x_synch "I'll be okay wherever. Erk."

x_rahne *laughs* "I've never ridden any of the places, so I canna really guess."

x_crowdofone D'you want to grab the other seats with Mr. Summers, then, or go behind him?

x_kitten *shrugs* Your call.

x_rahne *just picks a row somewhere mid-set*

x_synch *wanders rahneward*

x_kitten So..

x_rahne *peeks nervously over the edge*

x_kitten ((Scott up front, Marie/Jono, Jamie/Kitty, Rahne/Ev))

x_tarot *sits in middle, near front, pulls down restraintover head*

x_kitten *the ride begins. The whole thing gives a little lurch as the cars are tugged into motion and the little clicking sound starts as they are pulled up the hill*

x_tarot *squeaks, grabs Jono's arm without realizing it, as they near the top of the hill*

x_synch *squeezes eyes shut.*

x_crowdofone *is not quite so fearless as he was on the ground* Huh. This is kinda high up.

x_rahne *peeks over edge again, swallows, sits back and tries to think of sledding*

x_kitten *the first cart reaches the top, and hessitates, while the rest move just a few inches forward...*

x_rahne *squeak*

x_tarot *shuts eyes* "I am not looking. I am not looking. Someone tell me when we're back on the ground"

x_kitten *And they're off! The whole thing picks up momentum as it reaches begins to careen down the hill*

x_cyclops *raises hands over head*

x_kitten Eeep!

x_crowdofone *clutches restraints* Wheeaaaaahhh!

x_tarot *Merde. Merde. Merde. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.*

x_synch *tentatively raises hands over head*

x_kitten *At the bottom of the first hill it makes a sharp turn, pushing peopel against their restraints, and zooms back up the next one*

x_rahne *shrieks*

x_cyclops *keeps hand up and starts screaming*

x_kitten *the second hill is crested and as it shudders down the next one you can see the first loop coming up*

x_synch *is screaming. and clutching restraints.*

x_tarot *cracks eyes open, sees loop, slams eyes shut again*

x_crowdofone *grins, panting, and puts his hands up as they go down the second hill*

x_kitten *kitty cries out, ducks under Jamie's arm and hides her eyes*

x_rahne *is breathing very raggedly, squinting, does not scream due to not having breath for it*

x_kitten *They swoop up the hill, and there's a half second of free fall as they reach the apex before coming quickly down the far side*

x_rahne *stomach is somewhere on the last hill*

x_crowdofone Woohoooo!! *is now having lots of fun*

x_synch *has decided this is scary. and kind of cool.*

x_tarot *Screams bloody murder*

x_synch *okay. really cool.*

x_kitten *at the bottom of the loop it turns again, and there's not even time to be pushed against the restraints as the third hill rises in front of them*

x_tarot *Has decided that this is scary as all getout, but might be okay after the third or fourth ride*

x_kitten *another sharp turn, this one shoving them sideways with almost enough force to trigger a d
dupe, and there's a second loop ahead, maybe 3/4 the size of the first*
x_kitten *kitty peeks up, sees the loop, shrieks again, and hides some more*

x_rahne *thinks that sledding hills were never like THIS*
x_rahne *...but it might've been kind of fun if they were, but hard to hold on*

x_tarot *Still screaming, and clutching the restraints and poor Jono's wrist*

x_crowdofone *gacks and grabs the restraints briefly at the sideways shove, looks wildly around hoping there's not dupe stew on the ground*

x_synch *has given up on closing eyes. has decided this is definitely really, really cool.*

x_rahne *is, incidentally, clinging to restraint for dear life*

x_kitten *the pause at the top of the second loop feels as though it lasts forever, although it's probably only a second or two, and the ride down it is immidiately followed by a quick jaunt up the next hill*

x_tarot *peeks eyes open, sees world go around* "ERP!"

x_kitten *at the bottom of this hill there's another quick turn and the second to last hill rises before them*

x_synch *peers over edge of coaster*

x_kitten *the last hill is the smallest, and the coast to the bottom of it the slowest. the ride comes to a not so gentle stop, although it's again just shy of causing Jamie to dupe*

x_rahne *breathes deeply and a little shakily* "...Wow...?"

x_kitten *kitty looks up just before the last hill, and keeps her eyes open through that one, although she's still leaning against Jamie*

x_sparky *holding onto his hat*

x_synch *beams. oooo, lookit the ground spin.*
x_synch "Okay, that was kind of cool."

x_tarot *Unclutches Jono's arm" Sorry about that. I didn't mean to...

x_kitten *the ride stops and the restraints are released*
x_kitten OH that was fun!

x_sparky *awkwardly* It's all right.

x_rahne "...I'm not sure I'll be much use as a guide this time, Ev." *still swaying slightly*

x_crowdofone *gets up a bit shakily* Wow. That was a lot more fun than I remembered.

x_cyclops *climbs out, looks at kids, judging their states*

x_kitten *stands, grinning, and climbs out, making room for Jamie*

x_synch "I think I can be the guide this time. Just wait for the ground to hold still."
x_synch *climbs out*

x_tarot *Stands shakily* "I'm really, really sorry, Jono."

x_crowdofone *grins at Kitty* Even if somebody was trying to burrow into me, there. *hops out*

x_sparky *staggers up after Marie* Don't worry about it.

x_tarot *climbs out, finds something to sit down on* "That was scary. .. Can we do it again when my feet remember where I am?"

x_kitten Only when we were upside down!

x_synch "I think your feet are hanging out with my stomach and my sense of balance."

x_rahne *emerges, stands carefully, rather shaken* "That was... Sledding will seem tame."

x_crowdofone I didn't say I minded.

x_kitten *smiles at Jamie*

x_cyclops *smiles*

x_tarot *Goes to stand up, doesn't succedd, sits right back down again* Ev? Can your stomach please return my feet?

x_synch "Sure thing. Later."

x_rahne *offers Marie a hand*

x_kitten *laughs at that* So, do we do it again, or somethin else?

x_synch *offers hand*

x_rahne "I'm not sure I could walk if we do this again right away!"

x_tarot "Again! ." *Holds head* "After Doctor Mimeograph unsteals my feet."

x_rahne *giggles*

x_crowdofone Well, I still want to find Sarah, but that might be kinda overwhelming if we all go.

x_cyclops "Resting is always good."
x_cyclops "Don't overdo it. We don't need to spatter the park with your lunches."

x_rahne *eyes Scott, rather suspects he is laughing at them in secret, since he is not wobbling*

x_synch "I'm not Dr. Mimeograph. I'm Faxman. I don't steal feet."

x_tarot *giggles*

x_sparky *rubs arm and puts hat back on*

x_rahne "I think," *solemnly* "That this was not the Faxmobile."

x_kitten Well, there might be a fun house around that'd be like that... maybe...

x_rahne "I think I saw a tunnel ride...." *looks at sidling-off Jono, but doesn't want to bother him*

x_kitten It's a game... A toy cube with little squares on the side.

x_kitten You can mix it up and then you have to solve it so each side is all one color.

x_tarot Oh! And you put it back into the right pattern?

x_kitten Very hard.
x_kitten Yep.

x_tarot "I know that. Just not the same name for it."

x_crowdofone Cool. That's my new mission for today, then. Get Jono a Rubik's cube. And ride the bumper cars. And find Sarah, which leads into the Rubik's cube. And find out what doom Kitty has planned for me. *grin* All right, then.
