Note slid under Scott's door; lined paper, black ink, neat writing. Put there at the time on this post.
What is this 'pen and paper' of which you speak? )

I noticed Marie's post in x_students taking herself off. I'm a member of both x_staff and x_students. However, I like to use x_students to get homework assignments to the students. If they need that forum to themselves, then could we please have an area where we can talk about class and homework?

Would it be at all possible to switch my art class for an indepentant study or other class? I am not at all comfortable being taught by Piotr. I tried, early this week, but I cannot shake the feeling of discomfort I have.

Who do you trust?

I have an idea on how to beef up the security around here without the lovely motion detectors and other gadgets guaranteed to send off more false alarms than you can shake a stick at. But I need to know who you´d trust with the lives of these kids.

And, for the record, I shouldn´t be on that list.

Marko,

Is the heating around here busted or something? I'm wearing like, two long sleeved shirts, a turtleneck and another sweater here and I'm still freezing my ass off.

Subject: Yes, Charles, -Those- Suits

As I mentioned on the staff page, the equipment I requested from Muir arrived today. Along with some of my personal research and equipment, therein lies something I feel could possibly be utilized by this school.

This is a hard subject for me to talk about, even think about at times but if I ever want to fully feel at ease with starting this, than by God, I'll finish it.

I had a son, his name was Kevin MacTaggart and he would have been 17 this year but he died 10 years ago. He was a mutant who's body could not possibly adabt to the amount of energy he had. His powers flared at birth, nearly killing me in the process and things went downhill from there.

The sheer amount of power he possessed...he was a reality manipulator, a strong one at that. -That- is how Dr. Campbell lost his leg, my son decided one day that Uncle Rory didn't need it.

He was 4.

Why am I telling you two this (Charles has known)?

Rory and I attempted for many, many years to build -something- to contain his powers. Shut them off for a while, control them, anything we could think of.

We finally settled on one idea and started building containment suits until we could find something else. We were a month away from completing them when Kevin passed away.

I've let these damned things sit in storage for 10 years, afraid of my failure.

But Charles, I'm giving them to you.

With my knowledge of how these things should work, Hank's brain and the money we each have...I believe it can be pulled off. Emma, I know you gave something to Jono to help which is why I've included you in this e-mail.

I do not want these to be containment suits. It was necessary for Kevin because he didn't have much time, we didn't have much choice. But the kids who could use this technology here are no where near that critical juncture. Perhaps we can turn them into something else, something wearable...just something.

Marie,

I just got my da's old collection of hunting rifles, all in excellent condition. Do you want to meet me tomorrow morning to try one of them out? Apparently there's an old archery range a way back we can use.
