Nathan returns to their rooms to find Moira still awake. Moira's made a decision about rounding out her medical certifications. Nathan neatly avoids talking about any of what's bothering him, and succeeds in putting her to bed.

It's psionics morning, and Manuel, who's been practicing his shielding diligently, is making his Askani teacher very happy. He makes even more progress, trying a variation on the basic technique. Nathan, however, isn't holding up his end of the bargain particularly well, and both Manuel and Galin call him on it.
