Introducing Billy

Two baby-featuring logs. In the first, Maddie stops by and catches Billy's after-lunch bath. They work out when Hank's going back on night shifts, agree that Billy is exceptionally cute, and make tentative plans for a picnic date sometime when they've both had a little more sleep. Warning: extreme schmoop.

( But without guilt and self-recrimination, how would I keep myself amused all day? )

After his talk with Maddie, Hank heads outside to get a little sunshine. He runs into Angelo on the porch, and they talk a little about at least one of the things that has been bothering Angelo. Hank lets him hold the baby, and offers to help in what other ways he can.

( I'm contemplating chasing Jake through the halls with him. I'm sure he'd run. )

Nathan and Saul, Alison and Haroun, Sunday afternoon

Nathan meets his father in New York. Saul is not at all what he expected. There are limits even to a lifetime of learned wariness, and all the caution in the world can be undone by the desire to believe.

As Nathan and Saul talk, Alison and Haroun keep up their cover at a nearby table and listen in. The back-up is not happy.

( He's getting played. You hear it as well as I do, don't you? )

Nathan, Moira, Haroun, and Alison, Saturday afternoon/evening

Directly after returning from New York, Nathan goes up to find Moira and tell her how it went. They look at some of the contents of Saul's envelope together. Moira is... what's the word... just a little suspicious.

( He talked about my mother with such love, Moira. It doesn't make any sense. )

Later, Haroun finds a brooding Nathan and manages to both talk a little sense into him and encourage him to unwind.

( I think I'll give thanks to God today that my family is a stable, normal thing. )

After the pool game, Nathan runs into Alison on his way back upstairs. They're both quite a bit calmer, and Alison is perhaps a little reassured to find that Nathan is thinking more clearly about the situation - or at least, recognizing why he's not thinking as clearly as he should be.
