Interlude

Logan only wanted to head down, grab his bike, and go for a ride. Maybe get a cold one someplace he'd never been before. He needed to get out, to get some distance from the spectres that haunted his dreams.

And that was his firm intention until he passed a beautiful-looking Alfa - and the smell hit him in the brainpan.

Looking around to see if anyone was watching (they weren't) Logan walked over to the hood of the jalopy and inhaled deeply.

~Jeannie...~ he thought wistfully before fixing that smell in his treacherous, unreliable brain. Exhaling, he moved on to where his bike waited for him.

He peeled out of the garage and onto the open road, the whip of the wind wiping away the smell from his nose. But no matter how fast he drove or how far he went, he couldn't outrun himself.

Damn nice car, though. Tickled him - he thought he used to own something like it. Sportier, sexier. He just couldn't remember the model of the car. It was British racing green, he knew that much. Purred like a kitten, hugged curves like a lover and stopped on a dime.

He was going to need a lot of beer to keep red heads and green cars off his mind.
